This is my new favorite winery (along with Failla and Littorai). Firstly thanks to Frank for such an enjoyable tasting experience. He was very accommodating to our multiple reservation changes. He was also a great host -- shared some great stories of his time living in Napa. Secondly, the wines are really good. The winemaker is known for his Cabernet Sauvignon wines. The Herb Lamb was really good. The Cabernet Sauvignon Calistoga was also good. It's an Olno clone -- from a well known vineyard / vineyard in Calistoga. The Chardonnay from the purrington rued vineyard is really good. It has strong notes of Riesling even though it's 100% Chardonnay. Lastly, the tasting room is really nice. It's new (built in 2020) and it has an awesome living wall.

The staff was very nice and helpful. The Pinot Noirs were more approachable than the cabs. The silver eagle Pinot showed a lot of complexity on the nose and was seamless on the palate. The two cabs will be very nice with a decade or more of bottle age for my taste, but I prefer secondary and tertiary flavors in red wines.

We had such an amazing experince at Rivers Marie. We arrived a few minutes ahead of time and was walking the property and taking pictures. A gentleman approach us and asked if we were here a tasting. He showed us to where the tasting room was. I shook his hand and said thank you and introduced himself as Thomas. I replied TRB? He smiled and said yes. He was such a nice person and like alot of people, we love his wines. After being starstruck for a moment Thomas introduced us to Frank our host for the tasting. Frank was outstanding and guided us through some the most amazing Pinot Noirs and Cabernet Sauvignons. It was hard to chose what to buy because it we loved them all. Highly recommend visiting...

Our tasting at Rivers-Marie was Awesome! We were seated inside in a personal tasting room and given undivided attention. Frank was our host and he is very personable, service oriented and extremely knowledgeable about Rivers-Marie wines and wines in general. He told us about the Rivers-Marie wines - grapes, vineyards, specific clones, and the wine's characteristics. We also had some great discussions comparing California and Burgundy wines. There was a great, "personal" feeling experienced by everyone in our party at Rivers-Marie.
