I purchased a battery online for my wife's HP laptop and decided that I needed a professional to properly install it. I called CC and was told that I could bring it in. When I entered the store at 9:30am I was told that it would cost $125 to replace the battery. I had hoped that it could be done quickly but he said that he would call me by the end of the day. When I returned home and told my wife the quoted price, we agreed that it seemed exorbitant and decided to call CC and ask that he hold off on installing the new battery. It was no more than 30 minutes since I had dropped it off, but he said that it was already done. When I called Mustang Computers in Los Osos to get a comparative price, I was told that if all went well with the installation then the minimal charge for 30 minutes service was $42.50. It was my fault for agreeing to the quoted price and doing business with this individual. When I went to pick up the computer and told him my story, he was unapologetic for his business practices. He's convinced that he is the best in the area, and he has disparaging comments about all of his competitors, laughing and smirking at the very thought of doing business with them. I blame myself for not taking the time to compare price and service for a simple battery installation. I hope that my story helps somebody else to avoid my mistake. As an aside, the owner was not wearing any face mask during a period of time when the SLO County Health Department was mandating masks for all indoor business. That should have been my first clue about his level of concern for...
Read moreI called in to get my desktop repaired, I went in he reviewed it and said my hard drive was out. My desktop came with a 3TG hard drive from the factory, he said it would be $179 to replace my hard drive. I said fine please fix, I picked up my desktop yesterday and noticed that the hard drive installed was only 900gb that 1/3 of what I had originally. I called him up and asked him why he only installed the 900gb he said I didn't have much stored in the machine, therefore, I didn't need the remaining storage. I advised him that I wanted my 3TG hard drive as I had originally, he said it would cost me an additional $100 to install. I said no when you stated that it would be $179 to replace my hard drive that meant you were going to replace it with the same capacity. He said no and hung up on me. BAD SERVICE for first-time...
