So I couldn't be more impressed by how well Todd and his staff turned our experience around! After reading my original review below Todd reached out to me wanting to make up for our bad experience. Todd and his staff are really passionate about wine and the product they serve and Todd is also very passionate about the relationship with his customers. We stayed in the Chateau above the tasting room for the weekend and it was wonderful. It had a nice and relaxing vibe and we felt like we were at home. We actually got to taste all the wine this time and there wasn't one that my wife and I didn't like. Todd went completely out of his way to make sure that we were given the proper treatment and had the best Moonstone Cellars experience. If you are ever in Cambria and want good wine, great stories, or a great place to stay I would highly suggest making Todd at Moonstone Cellars your first pick as host!
P.S. the wine was so good that we joined their wine club! We definitely will be back!
Original review :
My wife and I went to moonstone cellars for a tasting. The lady helping us was completely drunk and couldn't really comprehend what we were saying. She even admitted to us that she was drunk! We asked to do the wine tasting, we were poured two tastings, then two more but one was the same as the last, and we didn't get our last pour. We tried telling her this but she was just so wasted she couldn't understand. She pulled up the register for us to pay and was trying to blame the fact that they were busy for lousy service. No honey you were drunk, that is why we had poor service and won't...

In 2008, Aug, we were on our honeymoon, and stayed in Cambria for the usual, with plans to head up to Napa....for the usual. Moonstone Cellars was a great find. They are relatively new to the business, but do it well. We loved the wine, and became members on the spot. We like good wine, and would consider ourselves discerning wine lovers, rather than picky or snobby wine people.
The staff and owner are very friends and fun to listen and interact with while tasting the wine. He loves his wine and it shows. They don't just dump wine in the glass and move on. They actually want you to enjoy the wine.
Now for the wine. They started in 1998, founded in 2003. So they are still relatively new. But for that, the wine is very good, especially for the price. The wines are well balanced, good flavor, and they have great varieties. Unlike many other wineries, I like all their wines, and have no problems recommending them. I look forward to many years to come, especially as they become old hats at this. Kind of like a new car, turning into an old classic.
Great place, great wine,...
