2025-07-18 Update Came up again for one of our birthdays and this time stayed in one of the standard king rooms for the Stash rate of less than $200 a night. No real difference in the size of the room compared to the deluxe king room but were told the standard rooms are further from the beach front. So if you really want to hear the ocean waves, get a deluxe room at least. We could still hear the ocean but not as loud. Otherwise, the room was roomy, clean, and comfortable as all the other rooms we have stayed in here. Staff is still super nice as usual. If you book a stay between now and Sept 31st, you will get a voucher for a book one night and get one night free for a future stay between Nov and March. Best deal there is... 2025-02_24 Update Came back up to take advantage of their BOGO deal and this time booked one of their king deluxe rooms. Still super clean and could get a slight view of the ocean and hear the waves. A little smaller room and bathroom compared to the ocean view rooms but still comfortable. Staff still super nice as always. 2024-03-16 Update: Came up again this week and had another great stay. Booked a partial view King room (214) and still had a great view of the ocean. Room was immaculate. Walk in shower was nice. Good wifi speeds, was able to watch movies on our FireStick without any buffering. Got a good TMobile signal too on my cell. Staff was super friendly. Hot egg wraps in the morning was satisfying. Will stay here or at their sister hotel Blue Dolphin the next time we come back. Took advantage of their black Friday 40% off sale so was able to stay for less than $400 for two nights total. Came up to Cambria to celebrate our anniversary and we really love this place. Super clean and recently remodeled. Staff was very friendly and courteous. We had the upstairs double queen ocean view room (219) which featured a very comfy sofa by the window that looked out into the ocean. The room had cable TV, a faux fireplace/heater that was sufficient to keep us warm while having the window cracked open a little so we can hear the ocean waves at night. Room had Keurig coffee maker, microwave, and a fridge with a decent size freezer section that kept our blue ice frozen. Love the fact that you don't need to walk up any stairs to reach the upstairs units because of how the parking area is sloped. The breakfast room is not open but, they do offer an egg wrap/burrito that can be delivered to your room for $5 per person. It was piping hot and very filling which we appreciated. They offer a squeege and towels for cleaning your car windows too. I think we found our new favorite place to stay in Cambria!

My husband and I stayed here for our spontaneous weekend trip to Cambria and we are so glad we did. We had such an enjoyable, relaxing stay! We stayed in one of the king rooms with a patio facing the ocean and it was 100% worth it. Breakfast was included in the reservation and they bring it to your room at the time you specify when you hang your selection card on the door. We tried a few different things but my husband said the yogurt parfait was his favorite and I enjoyed the chorizo burrito! Eating breakfast on the patio overlooking the ocean was one of the highlights of our trip. Staff was very friendly and check-in was quick and easy. The room was the perfect size for two people and the bed was quite comfortable. I wish I had the chance to use the big jacuzzi bathtub but I will save that for our next trip. We can’t wait to visit again!

We stayed here the first weekend in October and had an incredible time!! The weather was so nice and our room was 114 and it was literally 3 steps from the ocean. The rooms we HUGE!!! The best was so comfortable and I swear it was the best shower ever- hot water & strong pressure. The bathroom has a huge vanity and PERFECT lighting that I wish I had at home. They had cable in the rooms (like actually good TV) and KCups. It is less than 5 minutes from the downtown area and when you check in I was given a full map and list of places surrounding to eat at. This is the only hotel we will stay at in Cambria and I 5000% recommend!!! Clean, Safe, BEAUTIFUL, RELAXING!

We had a rough start with the hotel because our first room smelled really bad, and that was kind of a showstopper. However, they eventually offered us one of their best rooms with a beautiful ocean view for the same price. We ended up taking it. They use old-fashioned keys rather than cards for the doors which is a little weird. Very quaint setting with all the flowers. I also enjoyed the breakfast wraps that they deliver in the morning. You have your choice of a wrap, a scramble, or yogurt parfait. My breakfast wrap was hot and very tasty.

Also, there are four important things that you need to know if you are going to stay in a hotel in Cambria:

Bottled water and vending machines are incredibly scarce in the entire row of hotels along the ocean. There is only one single vending machine, and that is at the castle inn, which has sodas and water. But because it is the only access to bottled water, those items were sold out in the machine. If you want bottled water or snacks, you'll have to go and get them at a gas station or general store on main street.

Almost every single restaurant in Cambria closes by 9:00 p.m. so you need to be planning your day accordingly if you want to get a reservation. Also with the late sunsets during the summer, you need to be planning whether you want to be on the beach to watch the sunset or at a restaurant for dinner, because you won't be doing both on the same day.

There is no network signal. My wife uses Verizon and I use T-Mobile and neither received a signal. Fortunately our hotel offered free Wi-Fi so we made great use of that for both internet and WiFi phone calls. The other ramification of having no network signal is, you have no GPS at your disposal. Fortunately because everything is in such close proximity, and on one of two streets, it's doable to get to every place you want to go. But in the off chance that you need to go to a nonstandard location, it might be challenging.

The cheapest unleaded gas was $4.99 everywhere in Cambria. Make sure you don't need to fill up there. We ended up moving on to Monterey where we were able to fill up for $4.20 instead. So Cambria gas is an 80 cent premium compared to adjacent locations.

Keep these four things in mind and you'll be able to make your stay in Cambria that much...

We have stayed for one night while travelling to San Francisco. ||The lady on the front desk was super nice and helpful. She gave us a map of town and marked every spot that we can check on. Also gave us notice of closed roads and advised us a route to travel safely to San Francisco. ||We have booked king room ocean view with patio and it was amazing. The view from the patio was gorgeous. ||The bathroom was spacious with both bathtub and shower. Water pressure wasn’t the best, but better than our expectations. Guest amenities had good quality. ||The mattress was the best that we have slept on in US. I had the best night sleep. Pillows were also so fluffy and everything was extremely clean. ||We have got a breakfast menu while checking in and marked the combo that we would like to have and written the time that we would like to be served. Our breakfast has served just on time and it was great. I liked the concept of having breakfast in room, other than having in a crowded, smelly breakfast room. ||There were complimentary water, tea and coffee pods. We enjoyed having a cup of coffee in our patio. There was also free coffee and tea at reception area. We got our second cups before leaving. There was also binoculars in room to observe surroundings. ||There was a walking trail across the road which was lovely to have a morning hike near ocean and greet locals.||The town was unexpectedly safe (if you are travelling from LA, you know what i mean). We even left some of our luggages in car during our stay. Parking lot was accessible from both front desk and our room. ||Our upstairs neighbors were a bit noisy. They were running and jumping for half an hour but fortunately they fell asleep before midnight. It’s not about the hotel but people… I have observed that people in US have no respect to others.||Only downside of the town was there is nothing to do after 8 pm. All shops and restaurants were closed at 8 pm. So I recommend to stop by at market before they were closed.||Overall we enjoyed our stay very much. Highly...
