Shamel Park — Attraction in Cambria

Shamel Park in Cambria is a county park. It has a pool that is open on weekends in the summer in the afternoons. There is a gazebo for concerts on the expansive lawn. There is room for large groups (100-200) easily on the large number of picnic tables and the lawn. There are big BBQ pits too! There are horseshoe pits (2) for a little friendly competition. The children's playground has swings and climbing setup that can keep a lot of children happy! With all that now come the cool part. It is right on the beach! just a few step away and you are on the beach with huge crashing waves. The beach is such at this location that there is a huge riptide. so be forewarned. The strolls down the beach lead to the creek and often there a lots of birds. The beach is a pebble beach. Look carefully at the rocks and note that the dark green pieces are jade.! Bring a picnic, your horse shoes, you beach blanket and / or a good book and enjoy the afternoon at a lovely little...

A beautiful patch of a park! A large grassy area to play frisbee or toss a ball, a small pool available in the summertime, and the picnic tables are separated by a wooden fence from the wind coming off the rugged beach. Dress in layers, or bring them with you, because if you don't like the weather when you arrive, it'll surely change while you're there! Parking is a bit limited, so if you are attending a large event prepare to arrive early or park and walk from nearby residential areas. And, please remember to be respectful of residents, as they have many visitors to the area that forget that this is their home. Don't leave trash behind, even if it's not yours. Beautiful place to visit and if you have kids great place to let them run around use the restrooms play on the slides and swings, there's even tables and bbq pits. If you continue down windsor st until it dead end you'll find bluffs trail... And it's huge!! There's more then a couple Smooth and off road (bikes only allowed on the more off road dirt trails) great views great people huge houses the ocean view and nice clean fresh air! What more could you ask for? I love it here oh yeah and there are succulents growing everywhere freely! Travel here more then...
