I gave this a 5 rating as we were very happy with our stay here; however, if traveling during the summer months, I might have given a 3 or 2, if the room was hot with no air conditioning. I believe many of the seaside hotels do not have a/c, due to the often cooler climate and breezes. ||We stopped in Cambria for a night to break up a long drive home. I tried seeing reviews of hotels on my phone’s small screen the night before and morning of booking my room. We needed an ADA room, with 2 beds, and no stairs, as my mother can’t bend her knees well, and can’t do stairs. She is not in a wheelchair, but does need bars in the bathroom, and a walk-in shower (not a tub that you have to climb over), and preferably a higher toilet, not the extremely low ones that many hotels have, which is difficult for anyone that has height to them, has bad knees, etc. We were extremely happy with our room! We got an ADA room with 2 Queen beds and a partial ocean view. ||My suggestion: if you love ocean views, but are getting a partial view, you might just go with a regular view and walk down to see the ocean. It is a small amount of ocean that you will see, and if foggy, as it was in October, it’s not worth paying extra for the small amount of view. Ocean front may be a different story; especially if staying several days, and maybe partial views closer to the front of the building. In our case, we were mainly interested in the ADA (handicap enabled) room, but would have taken the best view we could get, but if paying extra for our partial view it would not be worth an extra cost. ||Our room was very spacious, comfortable, and had a lot of charm. The bathroom had a beautiful tub with a seat, and a raised portion that someone with some mobility might be able to sit on and swing their legs over (not the case with my mother). The toilet had bars and was a good 4 – 5 inches higher than a standard toilet – exactly what is needed for anyone with height, bad knees, arthritis, etc. Not sure if that is more difficult with a wheelchair. While my mother was not able to use the shower in the tub, due to bad knees, the toilet was the best of the 4 hotels we stayed at this month, including a very exclusive resort. ||Our room was near the office on the 2nd floor, (#218), however, the hotel is on a hill, so you can access the 2nd floor & office from the raised parking lot in the back, without doing any stairs. ||Our room had a fireplace, a table with 4 chairs near a window with our partial ocean view, a coffee maker, 2 large glass bottles filled with water, and a nice-sized fridge. They had 2 luggage racks, which also seems to be a rarity in hotel rooms these days. The room had comfortable arm chair with a reading light, which is very nice, as some of the luxury hotel rooms we had stayed in recently had no ability to read in the room, due to the lighting. ||There is a nice breakfast in the office in the morning. They have yogurt, cereal, Danish (from Linn’s Restaurant in town), bananas, other fruit, hard boiled eggs, tea & coffee, etc. There were a couple of men exclaiming about the wonderful taste of the coffee (from SLO). It is in the office, and there are some tables outdoors, as well, on the patio, where there is also a hot tub surrounded by plexi-glass, to keep the wind away. There is a cute fountain of a wine bottle pouring wine into a glass. They had some Halloween decorations up when we were there, along with a bowl of candy on the counter. For a relatively small hotel, they had quite a few little extras that were nice. ||Our room was near the office and breakfast, and we heard a lot of noise in the morning, likely of the people going in for some breakfast. Otherwise, it was quiet during the night. ||I don’t believe there was any temperature control. I felt overly warm and didn’t use any covers to sleep. They have a fan in the closet, that you can use. It was October, so it was all workable. If there in the hotter months, I don’t think that would work for me. ||Overall, we were more than happy with our room. It felt clean, very comfortable, and very spacious, with many nice touches. I would definitely come back to this...

If I could rate this absolute jewel of a hotel higher, I would. The accommodations, the staff and the gorgeous location have made it my favorite hotel I have stayed in to date. The story of our stay is a convoluted one. We had booked two nights as a stopover on a longer vacation in Southern California. The day before we were to leave from our Northern California home, we had a pet emergency that turned into a life or death situation for our beloved pet. It was too late for cancellation, but as our pet required days of hospitalization, we decided that we would try to make it for our second night. We were in communication with the lovely staff at all times, so they were aware of our situation. When we let them know that we would actually arrive for our last night of our reservation, they were kindly welcoming and genuinely glad that we were actually able to make it for the last night of our reservation. They didn't have to be that lovely - they had our money whether we showed up or not . Again, complications arose and we didn't arrive for our one night there until just before 9:00 p.m. on a rainy, foggy evening and we were stressed out basket cases. Our 6-hour drive turned into a 10-hour drive because of weather and traffic, so we were elated to actually get into our room. Our first floor, ocean front room did not disappoint. It was spacious, meticulously clean, and beautifully classic in design with quality furnishings and bedding. The star of the show, of course, was the huge glass slider and windows facing the ocean. It was so dark we couldn't actually see the ocean, but we could hear it. We cracked the door, turned on the fireplace, listened to the waves and enjoyed the thoughtful bottle of wine the staff placed in our room as a welcome. We had a delicious night sleep in the comfy beds, and woke to sunshine dancing on the sparkling blue ocean just beyond our stone patio. I was recovering from bilateral knee injuries, and was using a wheelchair part-time while traveling. The beautiful room and bathroom were certainly spacious enough to handle a wheelchair even if I needed to use it at all times. Accessing the property and the room in a wheelchair was easy. I would have gladly stayed the remaining days of our vacation at this hotel, but our other accommodations were non-refundable. We were so sad to have to leave and we will definitely be back. Sadly, they are already booked during our time off in July, so we will try again this fall. The ocean front rooms are absolutely superlative and worth the extra money if you can swing it. I can't wait to go back. This is a family-owned property, and we felt like new friends when we left even though we were there only one night. They were truly kind and compassionate, rising above what you would expect even in the hospitality business. We wish them continued success and prosperity with this...

This place normally gets great reviews, which is why we chose to splurge and pay a premium price to stay here for two weekend days, but I was extremely disappointed by this hotel. I honestly was looking forward to staying here more than anywhere else on our roadtrip. However, the quality of the service and room that I received was nowhere near what was expected for the price I paid.

First of all, there were ants everywhere in our room. They were all in the bathtub and on the left side of the bed closest to the bathroom. We would later find out that they were all over the hot tub as well. The receptionist accused me of leaving food out (I had no food in the room) and then told us that many guests said there were ants in their rooms and that they were looking for water since it has been so dry outside.

In addition, when I arrived, the bedding that was on the bed was damp. It felt like it hadn't finished drying in the dryer. This included pillow cases, comforter, and sheets. I let the front desk know but housekeeping was gone. She didnt know what went on the bed so she just brought me an extra blanket. Then when I requested new bedding the next day (it was STILL damp in the morning after sleeping in it) the lady at the desk told me that I was mistaken and it that it was just cold. Really? After sleeping in a damp bed all night you think I'm mistaken? Okay.

At least they did come change it and wipe up some of the ants. But I would expect much more from a $300+...

Long time Cambria visitor but first time Moonstone Landing guest. The service was perfect and the room was great! We had a partial ocen view which was nice. Check in was quick and easy! Location is perfect for us as it is directly across from a Moonstone beach access and right next door the the Sea Chest, which is Cambrias premier sea food restaurant. The room fireplace is such a nice touch, and the office coffee is absolutely indescribable! Continental breakfast is provided, with a wonderful selection of muffins, yogurt, and drinks. We were lucky enough to meet Georgia, who is the general manager of the property and she is a gem! I think we have found our new favorite beach stay location! 10/19/2022 We had such a great time our first visit here we had to come back for my birthday! The rooms are beautiful, equipped with refrigerator, microwave, comfortable beds , great channel selection and roomy. Many have amazing views of Moonstone Beach! In addition the location is next door to the Sea Chest Restaurant which has the freshest sea food in town. Overall Moonstone Landing is a fantastic place for a romantic or family getaway. Their manager (Georgia) is very sweet, helpful, friendly and very hands on. The staff are extremely helpful and they also have the best coffee in town in the lobby, and it's free! Also you're just a few miles from the amazing Hearst Castle For sure, our next special occasion we'll be back!!

We spontaneously decided to go away for the weekend and watch the baby elephant seals nearby at the vista point. This is a great choice to stay! It is located right at the beach with a nice boardwalk, there is plenty of parking space, and the street in front of the hotel is a quiet one with a 25 speed limit. It seems like the place is rather new, the facilities and rooms are very clean and I enjoyed the eye for details, like the shower curtain of which the lower part can be taken off and washed, enough space to hang your clothes and towels, sustainable soaps, a comfy sofa seat and 2 chairs with a table, a cute fire place and windows in every room built in way such that you can see the sea. Oh, and very important: a big and very comfy bed! We would come again :-)

We absolutely loved our stay here. The view, especially during sunset, was spectacular! The receptionist who checked us in, Janet, was very nice. We forgot to bring our wine opener and she brought one AND wine glasses to our room. Bravo! Now that's customer service! The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was big and the jacuzzi was perfect. We loved the fireplace! The rooms were very quiet too. The hotel was pretty booked but I could not hear anyone from inside our room. The breakfast was good too, the highlight was the Danish pastries from Linn's. They were delicious! Overall, this was a great stay, and we will definitely book here again in the future whenever we come back to Cambria!
