Shine on Market — Attraction in Camp Hill

Me and my good friend decided to give Shine on Market a try after reading the many great reviews. The salon was very cleanly and everyone was very kind and friendly. I really was enjoying it until close to the end of my service, I had to have a precious full set soaked and removed. The nail technician had stated that my nails were layered on very thick so it may take a while to soak, which I said I was totally okay with. She soaked them off but when it came to filing them, left large chunks of my old acrylic on my nails when starting my new full set. And I understand she may not wanted to have hurt me since she was using a nail to pop off the remaining acrylic, but I wouldn’t have minded soaking longer for a better result. I’m just frustrated that I had to pay extra to not have them fully removed. She then applied the new acrylic and had flooded it into my cuticles of a few fingers, and when trying to filing it was hitting my cuticles with the drill. This caused my cuticles to be very sore and the top of the nail to be thicker than the rest. Then I asked for a milky white coffin shaped nail with flowers on two of my fingers, the flowers turned out pretty, but when i got home one of the flowers had already chipped and the dot work she had done turned into one big blob.

I wanted to love this place. But I've been extremely disappointed. I got my nails done on a Thursday. Dip manicure, gel pedicure- all French tip. At first glance they looked beautiful! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I left the salon Thursday realizing my nails weren't smooth and flat like they always are, but they all had a weird dip in the middle of them. I brushed it off. Upon closer look, I later realize my gel pedicure wasn't cleaned up, which then In turn has caused them to peel. Friday- my gel pedicure is starting to peel... less than 24 hours later. I go back to get it fixed Saturday- again staff is super accommodating! I leave and realize on Monday the pedicure is still not cleaned up & peeling again… toes are scabbed, and somehow I've managed to chip 3 nails in one day - without any crazy vigorous activity to break them. I have NEVER had nails break this easy- and so painless... if you want nice staff, this place is great! But the quality seems a little questionable... so 2 stars for customer service at least. Because they have great customer service I’m sure I could go back and get them fixed because I genuinely think the people here are so sweet & customer service is definitely up there- but being in a completely different state for vacation and having to go get your nails redone (paying AGAIN for a full set…) is a little...

The absolute best place to come for nails!! I’ve been coming here for 3 years and every single time has been a wonderful experience. I like the by appointment scheduling because I never had to wait that long and the entire experience is much more relaxed than me worrying about trying to squeeze getting my nails done into a spare moment. Amber is also so flexible and accommodating and was able to squeeze me in last minute a couple of times which I greatly appreciated. She and her staff always do a great job and I have never been disappointed. If I’m ever unsure of what I want they’re always willing to provide advice or convince me to try something new that I end up loving. They are all excellent at mimicking design ideas to a tee or just being creative with whatever ideas I have for nail art. The ambiance is very calm, relaxing and soothing which I always appreciate given my hectic work schedule. The salon is always very clean. I highly recommend this salon to anyone looking for a nail salon that does it all with a welcoming atmosphere. You will not be disappointed.
