We had the worse experience ever this evening at Bashas'. The woman named Cam was blatantly rude. We were at self check out since no registers were open. I was buying 6 bottles of wine. After I scanned the first bottle, I couldn't get the others to scan. My husband found this woman named Cam and asked her for help. She came over with and attitude stating she was helping another customer then shook her head and mumbled Jesus in disgust under her breath. As we were scanning the rest of our purchases, she continued with her rude behavior. I asked her name and she said Cam. She was turned away and I said "Pam"? She then stated no you didn't read it right. I was finally able to she her name tag and saw it said Cam. She called a manager over, I explained that Cam was very rude. As I was talking to the manager Cam was now commenting on my marine corps neglect and said semper fi and wished us a happy Thanksgiving. She was just trying to safe face for her earlier behavior. I guess in a small town like Camp Verde the can get away with treating their customers that way, since the are the only grocery...
Read moreI live "remotely" in Happy Jack, AZ; we're not "off grid", for examples, we have: paved Coconino County roads; APS electric; municipal water propane gas delivered; fire department and fire hydrants-but we are in the forest and there are no "commercial" enterprises, no grocery stores, for example. I met Eddie Basha, many decades ago and what a great person; "my" family came to Arizona in the 1870s (territorial) and we appreciate that the Basha family brought a major grocery to, importantly, rural areas. So I like to support the legacy/ the importance of Basha's to Arizona, by shopping at Basha's. The closest Basha's to me is in Camp Verde, an hour away, and what I appreciate are:1), increasing numbers and variety of "organics" being available; and, some "healthier" products being carried like "Veganaise" and "Ezekiel Breads". Most are unaware that these "healthier options' exist, and yet Basha's carries them, which takes up "shelf space"; I certainly appreciate this, personally. So, thanks to Bashas for serving Arizona for so long and thanks for continuing to improve/expand and diversify the...
Read moreFriday 10 February 2023... Beautiful sunny cool day to pay a visit to this family owned store. I have visited one other time several years ago but didn't shop. Today was a GREAT day! The store is so well arranged and a lot larger than I recall. Easy to get around even with lots of customers because the store's aisles are spacious. Found so many local products which I haven't seen even in Cottonwood stores. Photos posted because this is so awesome a variety of local products in such a small town!! However, my main reason for shopping was to purchase devotional candles. I was not disappointed! Their selection is the largest I have seen. I purchased 15 because there are so many candles featuring Saints and prayers. My cashier was a delight! Very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, I didn't ask her name, but her cashier number is 0137. And, lastly, to state why I love living in Arizona (native Texan.) Campe Verde is very picturesque with expansive, open landscape edged by mountains. Simple beauty but God's country in my eyes. Stop in to shop and to admire the...
