What a great experience! Not to mention a scenic, convenient location (jet skis are in the water, just start 'em up and go)! I had the privilege of enjoying a ride yesterday, and I wish I could go every day! Raven, the owner, says that his goal is to provide an enjoyable yet safe adventure on the water, and he delivers! He's extremely knowledgeable about the Bay and surrounding sights, and you have this huge, uncrowded area of the Bay to enjoy. Dolphins, concrete ships at Kiptopeke State Park, the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel (one of the seven man-made wonders of the world!)...he even gives tips about how to find sand dollars! Raven's staff is competent and experienced as well. They thoroughly explained where I could and could not ride, told me how the marine radio works, explained boating laws, etc. I felt 100% safe and wouldn't hesitate to bring any family member along for a ride (I saw a family with a three-year-old riding while I was there). And his prices are well below others in the area (pleasant surprise!!). All in all, Poseidon Watersports is a safe, well-run operation, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit!
Edited to add a comment about that guy Trevor's review (because I can't respond to it on his post): It's so obvious the guy didn't listen to what he was told because he couldn't even get the names of the owner and the assistant right. He admitted in his post that he "goofed up”, and he should be held responsible for his mistake, IMHO. He ruined a new watercraft because of his inability to listen to simple instructions. Instead of being responsible, he wrote a malicious post about a well-run, successful business and attacked a reputable businessman. He should be embarrassed and ashamed of himself, and the owner of PWSVA should file suit against him for damages to his watercraft, as well as defamation...
Read moreI feel very fortunate to have found this place in the Virginia Beach area. It was my first time jet skiing and I’m glad I waited so long to go, all these years and this place made it worthwhile. When you go jet skiing in other places as my friends have informed me there are many limitations as to where you can go or they give you a small territory where you can continuously make circles under massive supervision and so forth. This place was so kind and hospitable that I walked away feeling as though I have been jet skiing my entire life. I felt like a true professional.
Ravens team, Charlie and Nathan I believe (I really hope I’m not getting the last guys name wrong) and the lady who assisted with the forms were sooooo sweet. Super down to earth. They made me and my family feel at home in this small town (coming from New York this was definitely not the most populated are!!). Honestly if it wasn’t so far away for me, I would be here all the time!
This is some of the most fun I’ve ever had in my entire life. We went so far out to see that the hour past very very quickly. I would recommend everyone to do an hour jet skiing trip here simply because you’re not going to get the full enjoyment in a half hour. Your time starts when you hit the water, and i can’t stop speaking good about this place, this was fun for the whole family!!
They even made my mom feel comfortable to get on the jet ski and she’s not a water person!! Must try this place if you’re in Virginia Beach, this is the place...
Read moreAbsolutely wonderful jetski experience in the Chesapeake bay late spring. Easy booking over a call. The whole family had a blast. Wife and I operated the skis and the kids had fun swapping over during the ride. Swimming in the bay added to their fun. Great value. Our guide Ryan who escorted us out of the dock and stayed near the rocks all the time, very polite and helpful. We felt safe and watched, having our own playtime. Must say we lost all sense of direction out in the open waters.
Wife tried to go to a far away ship, leaving us far behind. We could hit top speeds of 70kph. Son enjoyed the zig zag bursts. Maybe next time we will try to visit the concrete ships sunk off the Kiptopeke state park. No dolphin luck on a sunny afternoon. It was neat to see speeds throttled to 10kph or less, if we strayed out of area on the GPS. Definitely got a lot wet, more than we thought. Recommended to go bare feet. Appreciate the boxes provided at the jetski launch to place our sandals and other loose stuff.
Free parking at the Cape Charles marina, with access to the shower. Beware, our car Garmin GPS stopped at the entrance to the marina itself and we had to rely on our eyes to spot the small sign next to the Shanty restaurant. The owner Raven was friendly too. Maybe next time we will try the bike or boat rentals, which are also incredibly priced for a great value! Kids loved the company name, since they are all over the Percy...
