I wish I could give zero stars. The service is slow. An older lady rang us up at the register and was rushing us and then when my husband asked for Splenda for his iced tea, she told him it was poison but he could have as much as he wanted. I think she may be an Owner as she is in a picture on a news article. Dark hair and referred to herself as having “old lady brain.” I waited close to 15 minutes for a latte and it was iced instead of hot. A tall older gentleman was complaining to a server about having to cut lemons for a customer that wanted lemon for her water and he was slowing down the entire operation while the baristas were trying to make drinks. I then asked if I could sit at a table downstairs and was told to sit upstairs. Then, I was blocked from going upstairs while the older gentleman told me to wait a few minutes for him to unload a delivery. I waited but was Unhappy bc I had already waited so long for my drink. Upstairs was stuffy and felt like it had no air conditioner. There were boxes all over and it was not cozy and looked like a storage area almost. Upon leaving, I tried to go downstairs and was stopped again bc more boxes were being unloaded and told to wait about five minutes to leave. My husband was moving to help move the boxes and I stepped down a stair and the man put his hands up to block me. This upset my Husband and the older gentleman yelled at us and as we rushed by to exit an uncomfortable situation, he continued to yell at us and berate us all the way out the door. Will never return. Just a very weird and off-putting experience. We were treated like trash and want to warn others not to try this place. We had a much better experience later at a neighboring shop. As a couple who come to cape Charles every few weeks, this was a horrible way to be treated and our first time at this place will...

Went here for breakfast during a bachelorette weekend getaway with 3 of my girl friends. Cute area and tasty food. Downside was that my friend had hair cooked onto her bacon (Bacon that was mostly fat. I had also ordered some for myself (that was fatty too) and mold on her blackberries (That they claimed was powdered sugar but powdered sugar doesn’t fold like paper would. It would just melt when it’s touched. We had talked ourselves into thinking we were mistaken until I also found that mine had a spot with larger surface area. This spot also had small fibers that stuck out all around. When they brought the blackberry back it was completely smushed with no spot on it anymore. That was a red flag for me.) I also had red lipstick on my original water glass. Additionally, the wait time for our food was quite long (20-25 mins for two bagels and a few eggs and bacon. It wasn’t busy and they were many people working) and it was quite pricy for the items/portions you get.

Pros were that the coffee and specialty coffee were delicious and quality. Beautiful building.

I would go once more because I believe in trying things more than one time. As is though, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone without having a better experience.

What I would have done differently: Maybe ask for extra water and dip any fruit that looks moldy into it as a test? Not that I should have to think this way when I’m paying for what is meant to be...

The place is adorable and the food mediocre. We came in as soon as they opened and the place filled up incredibly quick. There was one waitress named Sarah and she was picking and choosing who she wanted to serve. Example; we had been seated, a party of two, and for at least 15 minutes we showed the staff grace because they were incredibly busy. Several tables came in after us and were helped before us. One table walked in and was helped immediately because they knew the waitress. I understand how small towns work. And I encourage that type of camaraderie. But we waited for 33 minutes before we were even acknowledged. I had to go up to the bar to order our food. Our saving grace was a waitress named Nicole. She helped us immediately. She realized the frustration and did everything she could to make sure we got our drinks as soon as possible. She was personable, incredibly friendly and turned the entire experience around. I was told that they were short staffed. Somebody had decided not to show up, so I understand working in the hospitality business how things go. In the end, I would definitely come back here again because the place has decent food good mimosas and a staff even though stretched thin do what they can. Kudos to Nicole, Sarah...

We had breakfast at the Cape Charles Coffee House. Located in a building over 100 years old. We were able to enjoy fluffy pancakes, crisp bacon, seasoned home fries, stuffed breakfast burrito and endless coffee refills with the freshest fruit I've had in a while. It was very crowded but worth the wait. The hostess sounds like Miley Cyrus when she talks and the servers were very friendly with the biggest smiles signaling to us they were happy to accommodate us. We truly enjoyed our meals I just hate I forgot to take a picture of my food. 😏 Give them a try they won't disappoint.

Excellent spot for breakfast when visiting Cape Charles. Hot chocolate was delicious, and I loved the waffles with bacon! You can't go wrong with breakfast/brunch at this cute coffee house. (Also, if you happen to be a reader of romantic suspense books, this quiet cozy town is the inspiration for USA Today Bestselling Author Maryann Jordan's Baytown Boys series. It was very cool to experience some of the spots that were described in her books.)
