Well, after all these years, last night ripped it and I'm done with Outback. To me, Outback HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE PREMIER PLACE FOR PRIME RIB....BAR NONE! About a month ago, I ordered "to go", which consisted of 1-16 ounce classic prime rib RARE with 2 sides and 1 Filet, Med Well and Lobster. The steaks were cooked the way we ordered them, no complaints there, but when I opened my container up, what I was sold for a 16 ounce Prime Rib was a 7.5 ounce prime rib (YES, I weighted it. See pictures below.). I was furious to pay $33 for that. I called the restaurant, spoke to one of the managers and she did refund my money for my prime rib order. No Problem. Maybe just a new cook, doesn't know any better. Hired to fill the spot with no experience, maybe in training. Who knows, right? Anyhow, last night it was a toss up between Texas Roadhouse and Outback. I originally picked Texas Roadhouse, but when perusing the menu on line, realized they no longer served Prime Rib...so to Outback we went. Well, to say it wasn't an absolute disaster would be an understatement. I ordered my always go to meal, Prime Rib, rice pilaf and a Caesar salad. My wife ordered her usual Filet and Lobster and my son and his fiancée ordered a Porterhouse (medium rare) and were going to split it since it's a huge cut of beef. Well, my prime was rare, had absolutely NO FLAVOR, as tough as shoe leather, the rice pilaf was stuck together and bland as all get out. My wife ate the lobster after dumping enough drawn butter on it to give it flavor, took one bite of the filet and gave up on it. As far as my son and his fiancée, they just cut a few bites out of it (served well done) and let it go at that. Well, after paying a $254 tab plus a cash tip and getting go boxes, I decided I was done with Outback. To waste my time to speak to a manager just wasn't worth it. (I will take it home and make a vegetable beef and barley soup with it). Nothing will change. I have owned 14 restaurants in my 70 years of life, but never would I have allowed food like this to be served. The one thing my employees (especially servers) always had was the "over ride" option which is based on one simple fact I told them...that is "if you would not eat it, why would you serve it"????? It pains me terribly to post this especially about Outback, but maybe their time has come to an end. Once what was the absolute best in steaks is now no more than a cheap...
Read moreLet me start by saying, I still tipped over 20% of the bill. I was with loved ones my mother-in-law and my wife's bday. And my father-in-law and sister-in-law, A family friend sent a complimentary bottle of wine, I had eight an ounce sirloin (supposedly medium well) coconut shrimp, burger(medium) and fries, Fish and Rice. a chicken Salad,. My wife had steak and chicken ribs, Everything we order came out terrible, my Steak had blood dripping from it, my family members burger was bloody, their Salad soggy, we asked for 2 orders of broccoli and cheese, just got the broccoli. After showing our server our Burger, our server became defensive, picked up a menu and denied it was cooked wrong. Pointing out temperatures of cooked steak. At that point I cut into my Steak low and behold blood was coming from It. I show my server, There was no denying she looked at her servers notes, didn't apologize, just told me to enjoy my baked sweet potato and brussel sprouts, while she went and had my steak thrown back on the grill. Which is an absolute no no,!!! About 20 minutes later, our server return with another gentlemen I'm assuming a manager whom Deliver our wine. Pass me a plate with an ugly-looking re-grilled steak that was still not right and a baked potato. I didn't order. At that point I just ask for some boxes, left to the bank across the street for tip money. While doing so they came out and start singing happy to my wife and mother-in-law. All I can say is you got to step it up, my sister-in-law and I both are both Cooks, my wife a sever for 5 years. We tip well above 20% everywhere we go, but only for good service, I don't want to have an argument when the food I'm paying for is wrong. I don't want anything for free, that's not why I'm writing this. I just want you to step it up as well as your service. There were two other servers assisting us, one guy had a cool mullet. And another young lady who help deliver our food was nice. The blackberry...

My arrival. I have a bad leg so I have a disable placard. Of course ALL the handicapped parking is around the side from the entrance over 75 feet away. 2 spaces I believe but 3 spaces for the pick up meals. 10 regular spaces IFO of main entrance. The door is held open for me, nice. I was quickly seated. I knew what I wanted. The menu is way too long. Got my sweet tea. Not sweet enough had to ask for more sugar. Ordered the 16 bucks AYCE shrimp and steak, medium rare of course,( 6 ounce sirloin) It was the size of a hockey puck. Got the french onion soup for 1 dollar more... Hot bread arrives delish.... Soup arrives. Very hot ,good. The cheese on top was a blob messy. I had to remove it . I was unable to eat it. Then looking inside the soup I saw something. I ask a waiter what it was. He apologized and said it was croutons. They had melted away. EEHHH. Then after cooling off... It was the WORST soup ever. I have had better out of a envelope or can. NO onion flavor or any beef flavor and so salty. My entree arrives. Hot fried shrimp. Told server to place another order. My hockey puck steak. Cooked on rare side. That ok...less shrinkage. ...It was a good thing I got a big serrated knife. Plus I had to use my bubble gum chewing skills. Steak was like rubber. Hard to cut. The shrimp and hot bread was fine. I got 5 orders of the shrimp.( It was noted on my bill.) Sauce...Every one is using or imitating sarachi sauce. (Hot peppers, garlic, tomatoe base from a Vietnamese immigrant 20 years ago. Rich guy now) Mayo and sarachi. hohum. Cocktail sauce was all right. Once again I am reminded of why I avoid chain eateries. Plus I scratch my head and see these folks coming in, Saying why??? I cannot be the only person getting...
