UPDATE: 8/22/2025 I would like to address the comments made by Sunsplash regarding our recent experience. Their statement is inaccurate. Unfortunately, the staff did not exhibit the common courtesy one would expect. Global Securty guard was extremely rude as well! The only individual who genuinely attempted to assist us was a young lady in customer service. This does not diminish the fact that my daughter and I felt we were treated disrespectfully, particularly when we were pointed at while walking to the front.
Moreover, I must emphasize that if the aforementioned claims were accurate, I would not have had a positive experience with my daughter on that previous Tuesday, nor during our other visits over the summer. If strict adherence to manufacturer policy is a priority, it should be enforced consistently and uniformly, rather than being selectively applied based on convenience. I intend to escalate this matter to the appropriate authorities, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). I will go to all lengths for my daughter!
I also have photos of the crew congregating..
August 16,2025- I have frequented this establishment on numerous occasions and had not encountered any issues until today, August 16, 2025. I possess three season passes, which I purchased primarily for the children’s pirate-themed play area. My daughter, who is six years old and on the autism spectrum, only engages with the lazy river and the pirate play area. She does not participate in the small slides. We visited the park multiple times in July without incident and again on Tuesday without issue.
However, during today's visit, when my daughter approached the slides in the pirate section, a lifeguard assessed her height and informed us that she was not permitted to use the slides in that area. I explained my circumstances and remained polite throughout the interaction. The lifeguard then summoned a manager named Aiden, who reiterated that my daughter could not use the slides, stating a height requirement of 48 inches. My daughter, who is just above this height limit and is the tallest student in her kindergarten class, is the child of a very tall father. 6 ft 7!
I expressed that the primary reason for purchasing the season passes was for access to this specific play area and noted that we had not previously experienced any issues. When I inquired about the possibility of a refund, the manager declined my request. Subsequently, I proceeded to customer service, unaware that my daughter and I were being observed and discussed by staff members. The staff, unfortunately, did not notice that my husband was accompanying us.
Upon reaching customer service, I was informed by other staff members that I had been rude, which I assert is untrue. Fortunately, the young lady at customer service was very helpful; she apologized profusely, provided me with a bracelet, and assured me that we would not encounter any further issues. In contrast, I found the behavior of the Global Security personnel to be quite unprofessional. He, without knowledge of my husband's presence, insinuated to other staff members that I was being rude. My husband subsequently clarified the situation to this security representative, emphasizing their unprofessional conduct in laughing and pointing as my daughter and I walked towards the front.
At this juncture, I resolved that we would not return to the park and formally requested a refund, as I refuse to tolerate belittlement or ridicule, particularly towards my daughter. While I successfully obtained my refund, I was disappointed to learn that the manager would not issue a refund for a water bag I had purchased shortly before visiting the children's section, despite explaining my intention not to return.
This park’s policies and treatment of children with disabilities warrant serious reconsideration. I intend to escalate my concerns regarding the treatment we received today, particularly from certain staff members and the security guard, to the Better...
Read moreI had an awful experience working here. I honestly wish i had listened to just the reviews of VISITORS, let alone the other people who have worked here who warned me. For starters, it smells awful. I left with headaches so often because of the putrid smells of sewer and mold. The tubes (for lifeguards) desperately need to be replaced because they REEK just as bad, and are falling apart. There are names carved into a few of the tubes. Underpaid. There were days i would show up just to have to go home because of lightning, and i would get paid for maybe an hour- you can't make enough to save for anything doing that. This ruined my entire experience being a lifeguard because I've wanted to be one since i was little. Jumping in and saving people was the best part of the job, not even the pay. The supervisors were iffy- and they pretty clearly picked favorites, which is sad, because had they not they could have been nice. There was only one supervisor i didn't feel constantly belittled by. Oh, and speaking of being belittled, i was humiliated in front of my boyfriend who i took to the park and shamed in front of him, and told to leave the park. Why, you may ask? Because i called off after SAYING i couldn't work Saturdays, getting scheduled on a saturday, and being scheduled for another job. I then was told i didn't need to come in on Saturday for that other job, and wasn't sure what else to do, so decided i would spend my free time there as i was there already for in service. I can see now how this was a problem, but previously i had not. They saught me out (not dropping names out of respect) and then yelled and belittled me for it, and told me to leave the park. Without a ride. I sat there, in a storm, in the tennis court next to sunsplashes parking lot sobbing my eyes out. Its sad how they talk to literal children. Im 16. I'm not perfect. This was my FIRST JOB. Yes, I'm going to make mistakes. Yes, you can discipline me and tell me not to make those mistakes again. NO you can not yell at me and berate me. Yes i live a life outside work. My knees are completely scraped up and bruised from kneeling during inservice as well, and when i moved my crocs to protect them, i got the look of "really?" From the supervisors. I'm not actually doing CPR here, I'm practicing. I wouldn't be complaining about my knees if i was actually saving someones life. We also got yelled at for doing what we were told. They don't treat their employers with respect, i quit on the spot because i was so done with it all. I was planning to wait out the season but honestly im glad this happened because i don't think i could handle all of that. Thats too much stress for a 16 year old. They hire 15 year olds, too. Its sad. They can get away with cheap labor so they do it. I will never return to this place. I dont recommend working there unless you want to be shamed and feel like a failure with every thing that you do. Or if you want to be kicked out feeling humiliated that that just happened in front of your significant other and then go sob in a tennis court parking lot while its storming and you wait for your parent to pick you up... I don't know if anyone has spoken up about the horrible working conditions or not, but if they haven't, I will happily be the first. I worked there for a month. A single month. You get stared at by people all the time (in a sexual way) and yelled at by visitors all the time for things out of your control, and nothing ever was done about it. They never get kicked out. I understand if you believe me going there after a calloff was inappropriate. I explained and apologized and was calm about the whole thing. But don't berate me and humiliate me. You could have handled that so much better. Not going to miss being stared at by old guys either. If this is inappropriate, i apologize, but someone needs to speak up on the entirely unfavorable work conditions. This isn't how working as a...
Read morePurchased season passes & spent enough time at this water park to know its not a great place for young children or special needs at all. Its a little out dated & could be run much better. I was denied a resident discount even though I live in ft.myers (3+yrs)- because my child is a home schooler - it was an automatic "no" ! I didnt bother arguing because my child was excited to be there.I didnt want to ruin her experience, unfortunately SUNSPLAH did. My special needs 7yr old was not allowed to play at either children areas of the park. Yesterday she was allowed down some of the slides , today she wasnt allowed at all. The life guards at each section follow their own rules & Im not happy about that because it confused my child. She was in tears & couldnt understand why it was a "yes" yesterday and then a "no" today - she thought there was something wrong with her- ( DESPITE HER SPECIAL NEEDS-THATS VERY CONFUSING FOR ANY CHILD) My child being only 7 should be able to play in the childrens area of the park. She desperately wanted to play with the other children at the park & walked past in tears because she kept getting sent away. It goes by height & shes an inch over, if that. Its a "childrens" section not an "infant" section. Its obviously NOT for safetly issues either as they let adults w/small children go down the SAME exact slides my daughter was not allowed on! IF AN ADULT CAN GO DOWN- KIDS SHOULD BE ALLOWED ALSO! I find this obsurb & sad for kids that are taller for their age & I feel bad for kids with disabilities that need to play in a kid section - especially when that child cant do anything here besides the lazy river! Not all kids can go on the big water slides such as my daughter & will ONLY want to be in the childrens section. The slides are scary for some kids , especially if you cant swim or have special needs. Thid lazy river is not to relax on eiter! its a very rowdy & hectic section. People are pushing , yelling & just acting wild- while the staff watches, they blow whistles but carry on. Having fun doesnt require putting other guests safety at risk! If you do not get in the park by 10:30 am youre not getting a chair. Alot of ppl renting cabanas were taking the seats meant for the regular guests. The food line is insane! you will order your food & wait over 20 min. with a bunch of confused employees. The food is good but not for the long wait & chaos it comes with. I did interact with staff members at customer service, some which were very nice & helpful but my issues & concerns could not be fixed. This park really should take young kids & special needs into consideration. Other attractions, including Disney accommodate special needs & situations. So Im not being unreasonable when I say SUNSPLASH should put more thought & consideration into having accommodations at their park. It would help a lot of children. Unfortunately I have many issues with sunsplash at this time but its the only water park close to home so thats why I thought it would be a good idea to purchase the season pass but unless I plan on staying in the lazy river with my daughter in hopes we dont get pushed, shoved & jumped on- its all we can do here. Im not asking for SUNSPLASH to feel bad for my situation or give me "special privileges" but they really need to take into consideration of changing their requirements in the KID area. Maybe then guests could enjoy the the lazy river more because it wouldnt be so rowdy because kids could enjoy other attractions. I also did not like the fact that at 5:30pm they made everybody hurry up and get out of the pool because the park was closing at 6. I understand it's closing but its open until 6pm not 5:30.There are some great staff members here and very terrible ones. The ownets should be aware of all going on here. I wish my family could enjoy this place more, My child left feeling disappointed I'm sure i'm not the only parent that...
