We live in Port Charlotte. Daughter had driven home from SC and wanted hibachi for Mother's Day, and Charlotte County doesn't have the best offerings. Having lived in Cape Coral, we have frequented Hana's quite a bit and have never had complaints. Mother's Day was horrible. We came well after the rush. No wait for a table. Server was not pleasant but no mind. Daughter and hubby always order a lot of sushi and share a meal. This was told to the server and chef, who both said no problem. It never has been. It started with the chef not giving my daughter any rice (they ordered 2 extra rice, besides splitting). They had ordered filet and shrimp. Touching raw chicken and steaks. They were on the same plate. Forgot the shrimp. At this point my daughter left. It was mother's day! We had been served all the food we ordered. She got vegetables on her plate. That's it! Then he starts cooking the chicken. Then he realized no one ordered chicken! The worst part is he put her portion of the filet under the cart (this is when she left). Our regular steak serving was 3x more than what was served to her hubby. We brought this all to the attention of the server. He not only brushed it off but blamed it on the server and kitchen. Made no amends. Those who have been to hibachi knows the chef goes around the table to confirm everyone's meal. It was clearly stated again that they were sharing the filet/shrimp. You also know there is always extra rice so there's no reason for him not to have given her any; particularly because we ordered extra rice for 2 of their daughter's who wanted only rice and sushi. $190 for 2 adults, 2 teens and a 3 year old was more than enough food. Yet my daughter was only served vegetables. We quickly ate our dinner because she was waiting in the car. Not a good experience for long time customers who drove 45 minutes to celebrate Mother's Day. Unclear why the chef put her portion of the filet...

Read moreMade a reservation a week ahead of our evening there for a table of 10 to celebrate a birthday. They advertise a complimentary birthday meal if you choose their venue. Chose them based on that option, got there with our party, and found out mid-dining because the actual birthday was the evening before "on the license dob" (which had fallen on a week night) they did not honor the offer. Had we known the week before while making our arrangements to choose a spot to take an entire table of business we would have gone elsewhere. Just wish they had let us know about that 'small detail' when we booked the table and not once they had us all locked in... And that was the least of the problems there. To add insult to injury, the hibachi chef was as exciting as watching paint dry. He was unfriendly, rude, and offered no flamboyance or entertainment as he prepared our meals. It would have been more exciting watching them make the sushi given the choice. One guest asked for no onions, yet they still landed on her plate- Kudos to the chef for paying attention. Finally, the server mixed up our checks and was unable, after 4 attempts (and even dividing up our orders up by writing everything clearly down for her ourselves), to correct them. Nothing btw from the manager, which (after the third attempt and over 30 mins of trying to cash out) we felt should have at that point intervened, taken control, and handled that debacle. I've never been so put off by a hibachi experience from beginning to end in all my years of enjoying that type of dining. Going forward, our future hibachi parties will opt for returning to Kumo and never here again. Birthday or not, that experience was nothing more than a let down and huge disappointment. Talk about...
