Rib City - North Cape Coral BBQ — Restaurant in Cape Coral

Well I went on a search for a sandwich place. I did not find it, so I ended up here.

I will start with the plus side of things. The cashier was nice and helpful. My food came out in 10-15 minutes as stated. The hot bbq sauce was hot and tasty. I found the cole slaw was really good..

Now the minuses.... On my to go bill there was a service charge. of 14 cents. 14 cents not a lot. BUT. No where on the menu or anywhere else was there a explanation of the service charge. The cashier did not have a clear reason of WHY this is there. Oh yes the cashier never told me there would be service charge.......... IT IS THE principle of it all.

Now the portion really suck. I had slice pork it was cooked properly but it was only 3-4 oz. if that much. When I am paying 8 bucks for a lunch time meal give me a value for coming here. The fries were on the cold side and was barely a portion size of a Mcdee small fries. Hey if you are serving whats left in a fry basket fill my to go container up.

The garlic bread ( one slice) though full of garlic and maybe real butter was half the size of what is commonly known as Texas toast.

I am from Oakland,Ca. Though prices are HIGHER here for some unknown reasons,. ........ When I went to a bbq joint and got a sandwich of Q it felt like a good hefty meal. 2 pieces of white bread enough meat for 2 sandwiches slathered in the sauce of your choice outstanding sides of cole slaw. potatoes salad, greens or beans. SO if ever in Oaktown.................................. Everett & Jones,Flints,Chef Edward's Barbeque places of BBQ in Oakland,Ca. They filled your belly and did not break your wallet.

So I guess I will have to...

The first time I came here and dined in the food was great! So we made it our go to for carry out ribs. Ever since then, the ribs have been burnt EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. Sometimes it was not so bad as others and we didn't know any other rib places so we kept on coming. We complained twice when our dinners were totally inedible and couldn't make sure everyone got full from what we could eat and they were good about getting us a new meal or the second and last time they just refunded us. The thing is though, we have wasted hundreds of dollars at this location on food that was black, hard, and inedible. I have six people in my family so the bills were almost $200 on occasion.

Finally we decided there HAS to be somewhere better and tried the other location on Cleveland. It was literally night and day. All of our food was edible, and tasted great! I honestly dont know if it was misplaced loyalty or just habit that caused us to continue going back. However I'm just glad we stopped! This place could be great if they put whoever burns everything in another job, because this aint it for them!

With all of that said, and wasted $$ aside, the staff that have served us were amazing. They were always quick, courteous, and kind. They kept the establishment clean and they are hard workers. I really wish they could figure these issues out because the location is much closer to us, but is not worth it money wise since most of the food would be wasted.

Okay, this place is more or less a hit and miss. Every time I try to give this place a second chance. They find something to Mess up from not giving You the food that You paid for promising to give You discounts later that No One can Find Or serving you food That seems to be on the stove for a very long time and dried out. Maybe they only do this for the take out orders and save only the good stuff for the people in the Restaurant. there are young teens that they have working up at the front Entrance taking orders And answering phone calls. They seem to be more interested in playing with each other. Than to be making sure customers are satisfied. They can't even make sure that the orders are correct. Obviously they are not checking them before they walk out the door everyone is quick to say that sorry and say, we'll give you a discount next time. They never write it down and when you go in and ask for it. Everyone looks at you like you're a martian from another planet. I usually go to mission barbecue where the service is awesome. I tried to get this place a second chance to prove to me that they are worthy of me eating there. And here again they have failed my advice to you is don't take out check your orders. And if they promise you a discount on your next order, just forget about it. I know I won't be eating there...
