I gave this place only three stars, not because it's a bad store, but because they have a cat inside their business. A cat, but no sign on the door warning people there's a cat in the store. I'm highly allergic, and within a few minutes of browsing, began to feel swelling in my lips. About that time my daughter comes to get me because she saw a cat. I spent the next two days recovering, with breathing difficulties and hives, eyes glued shut every morning.
I love antique stores and I realize that items brought in from auctions might have cat hair, which is why I avoid soft things and fabrics....however, I can endure soft things covered in cat hair as long as I don't touch them. I cannot avoid a cat, actively shedding, inside a small space.
So, if you aren't allergic to cats, this is a wonderful place. They had several items I would have loved to buy that day had I not had to leave to medicate. I won't be able to go back as long as the...
Read moreI really like antique shopping at Annie Laurie's. The store is eclectic and chock full of odds and ends that people could want. Even though there are so many strange items around, the store is very organized and clean. It is easy to walk around and clearly view all of the options. Annie Laurie's supports small local businesses as well by displaying different items that their clientele could want. The location is perfectly located downtown close to other shops that fit with it, such as coffee, boba, and other antique shops. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and they overall enhance the experience that comes from being in such an odd place. The only problem I have with this shop is that it is so expensive now. I walked in with a $100 gift card and walked out with three items. Antiquing is supposed to be a cheap and fun way to shop, but the hype has driven...
Read moreWas really excited to visit this store as I visit town every summer to see family, but within just the last year the prices have gone WAY up. I was very disappointed to see a single Pokemon card being priced as new, when the card I picked up was damaged and not “vintage” at all. I went to look at other reviews to see if anyone else had the same experience I had, and noticed the owner responding with snarky comments to other customers. This place has definitely lost their way within the last few times I’ve been. I love supporting small businesses, but given the snarky comments and selling items as if they are new, makes me question if I should take my...
