This is a nice park. It has a fairly large playground, a gazebo, a fairly large sheltered area, a bathroom building with toilets with flush/plumbing, a small irrigation ditch to play around or in and a fairly large field. There is almost always people here, but there isn't a lot and it never feels crowded or that there is to many people there. There is always swings available, you don't have to wait long or often at all to use the slides, etc. Every year in the summer over 3 days the park is the location of mountain fair, an event that is very similar to a very large farmers market but with small booths, live music at the gazebo and lots of kid friendly booths, activities and events that include 2 limbo contests, one for adults and one for kids. There is also alcohol served there, but you cannot bring alcohol into a designated kids area were the kid activities including a bouncy house and a few kid friendly booths are. Mountain faire is free to get into and so is the live music from usually local bands. A lot of it is local brands and companies from Carbondale. During mountain fair it is always crowded. Overall the park is a fun, fairly quiet place when it isn't mountain fair, and a place you should go to if your looking for a...
