This is EXACTLY how all antique malls should operate. Extremely well organized, clean, tidy, no repurposed Home Goods-type stuff, and well lit; this place is a joy to walk around. On top of that, the owners are extremely friendly…it’s obvious they really care about providing their customers with an excellent experience. When I found a few pieces of what I collect (ocean liner items), the owner and I had a great discussion about the subject; we even found out that we both knew a major collector from Florida.
In the nearly 40 years of collecting and visiting literally hundreds of antique malls, I can honestly say that this one ranks in the top five.
I can’t praise this place and the owners enough; it was perfect.
One other thing: if you scroll down in the reviews you'll see one by some guy named Doug who gave this place one star because of the number of roundabouts and traffic. That has got to be the dumbest reason for someone to slag a business. Apparently this guy doesn't realize (or perhaps, care) that leaving a one star review brings down the overall rating for a place. Truth is, if he can't handle the extremely difficult process of driving in a circle (sarcasm) he doesn't need to be driving. Oh, and there was absolutely nothing about the traffic to raise an eyebrow. Some people get their knickers in an uproar over the...
Read moreHonestly if I could give this place a 0/5 stars I would. The last two days I have came to this store and was COMPLETELY watched like a hawk and not left to browse. The first night I assumed it was because it was close to closing (20 mins before). The second day which is today I went in almost an hour before close to look at something specific. Within that hour I was followed the entire time by employees, they circled me while browsing making me uncomfortable. They also repeatedly continued to tell me the same thing. The same man approached me three times while I was standing in the same booth telling me it was 25% off three times within 10 minutes. I couldn’t be more livid because I was on my way to grab an item I wanted 5 minutes before close and they legitimately kicked us out saying they’re closing before it was even the posted closing hour? Completely unprofessional, I would have bought that item as well and left right after and when they had said that I was a room over from where it was. Don’t waste your time or money, bad location and terrible prices. Everything was extremely overpriced. Some items even came from a target which again, is...
Read moreThis is a pretty nice antique store. It's better than average. The prices were set a tad high on some items, but that is mostly related to the vendors in the store, rather than the store itself. I'm guessing the prime location of the antique mall is the reason for the higher prices. There didn't seem to be quite enough staff working and the young man at the front counter seemed a bit overwhelmed. And, really I think he was being asked to do too much for one person, reasonably. He was friendly, courteous and working as fast as he could. I found some things I was looking for and all-in-all is was an ok experience. If there were other employees working, they were not anywhere to be seen. I had to knock off a star for over pricing and I knocked a star off for being understaffed. I could knock a star off for lack of parking, but I realize that the parking issue is actually exacerbated by the city of Carmel. The parking lot used to accommodate almost twice as many cars before the city made...
