Edit: Rating change from 1 to 4. I was able to get into the store during the weekday and the staff were very helpful! The atmosphere is nice and they have a great selection. Updating my review to reflect the change. My only complaint would be the hours not being the same every time. Other than that, I do suggest coming in to Heroes Emporium!
It’s hard for me to give a good review on a store when the days I visit shops are when they seem to have special hours or my experience wasn’t the greatest.
Out of the 7 times I have tried to visit this shop in a two year span, 3 times were good. The rest were either I stopped by and they ended up closed or had special hours.
During the prerelease of Tarkir (mtg set) I planned on purchasing at least 3 boxes. The hours were listed with a spring break schedule and shortened to only being open for 3 hours. I was shocked. Instead, I drove to another shop 15 minutes away and spent about $200 on product.
Last year I started getting into painting and one of their citadel paints was completely dry. It was my fault for not checking the product before leaving the store. I didn’t open and discover the issue until 2 weeks after purchase so I did not make an attempt to return it.
I really want to like them, because their location is great and they have potential of bringing in the Carmel/Westfield crowd. For now, I’m favoring driving a little extra further away to other shops for their...
Read moreOkay here we are again I really am trying to be a patron of this company this is my eighth time in today without purchasing anything. The store owner was in this time admitted to having the products we were looking for but refused to sell them to us because he wasn't sure when he was allowed to sell them to us. These products came out two weeks ago they're sold by every other store in the state. I wish this was a viable game store. But unfortunately it is not. I have been four times to try and make a purchase twice I was shown the item and told not allowed to purchase because they didn't know how to ring it up in the register. The other two times the store is completely empty and void of product so I'm not sure if this is a real game store or just someone's garage that happens to have...
Read moreCarmel has needed something like this and it’s finally here. The staff is some of the most engaged and helpful you could ever find at a store let alone a game store.
Inside they have some great deals on Magic, 40k, Age of Sigmar, and more. I’ve never seen a game store do something like that.
One last story before I go, I made a commander deck for my partner for the holidays. I needed some lands to top it off and they gave them to me free of charge with my purchase. Truly a stand up store and I can’t wait to...
