I am not a fan of leaving bad reviews, but I will make a special exception for Pies & Pints. The ambiance is the strongest appeal of the restaurant. I hear the pizza was good from my companions, but we all agree that the human element ruined the trip. On arriving, we had to wait 5 minutes for a greeter to appear. I had to triple check to see if we were there close to closing- nope, almost 2 hours until they closed on a Wednesday. The greeter showed us to a table, but for logistical reasons, we asked for a booth, and she happily allowed the change. It was fortunate the restaurant was nearly empty. This could be foreshadowing. The waitress was on us before we could even see the menus to figure out what drinks were available. I ordered my staples, Sprite without ice. I don't like my drinks cold. 1 of my companions ordered juice. After 10 minutes of waiting, neither got our wish. I ordered my Cuban Pulled Pork Sandwich without provolone, as cheese triggers my acid reflux. I only ordered that because all of the other sandwich options did not appeal. Also, pretty much every sandwich came with provolone, as if it were the only cheese in the world. After ordering, the waiting began anew. Waiting was bad enough, but the cushionless benches made our butts hurt. Prolonged butt hurt is not an advertising goldmine. When the food did arrive, my sandwich, of course, had provolone melted all over it. I waited a good while for the waitress to return for the usual, "So, how is everything?" only to be left with another long wait. I ate all the chips, and I needed protein so I had to eat. I will say I was impressed with the heat the peppers brought to the sandwich, nut that was the only thing about the meal for me that held anything good. The pepper overpowered the rest of the Pulled Pork. The artisnal bread was clearly baked in the oven, which left it horribly dry. The pork itself felt pulled from an over-cooked roast from 2 days ago. Partnered with the provolone, the dry bread, and the overpowered pepper, it was awful. I would have stopped at one bite, but the waitress just never appeared. I was in dire need of protein, so I forced my way through not even half the sandwich. When the waitress finally did return, I informed her about the cheese. She made a half-assed apology, but didn't even offer to make it right. Then, she disappeared for another eternity. Keep in mind, this place was nigh empty. I never saw more than 4 staff members the whole time (greeter, bartender, waitress, and a dude with impressive sleeve tats clearing a table). When she came back and asked if we needed anything, we asked for the bill and a to go box. After 10 minutes, she returned and asked if we needed anything... again. We, again, asked for the bill and a to go box. This time, they came promptly.
Overpriced, terrible service, awful sandwich, uncomfortableseating, hideous amount of time waiting... But they liked their pizza. We couldn't leave fast enough...
Read moreMy husband & I visited for lunch on 6/4 for the first time. Our server was very pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered the Pizza Skins, and were pleasantly surprised. They definitely weren't what we were expecting, but they were very good (just had a little too much garlic for my taste, but still good!). It's a fun twist on a usually very traditional appetizer. We ordered a large pizza, half & half. I got the Chicken Gouda & my husband got the Thai. Both were very flavorful, and he said the curry had a lot of heat, but it wasn't unbearable.
The manager came by to see how we were doing (during our appetizer) and was very nice. I appreciate managers who go around to see how guests are doing, instead of waiting for a server to tell them there's a problem (I'm a server so I see this happen A LOT). I asked our server if the current menu is the full menu (because I understand it would be condensed during this time), and she explained that they offer seasonal pizzas as well, and the ones she described sounded delicious! We ended up taking half of our pizza and app home (nothing wrong, just a lot of food...and dinner tonight!) and left saying how much we enjoyed it. We'll...
Read moreFrom the moment we walked into Pine & Pie Pizza, the ambiance was warm and inviting, setting the perfect tone for what turned out to be an exceptional dining experience. While the food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere cozy, it was our server who truly elevated the evening.
Our waitress was the definition of professionalism—attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and incredibly efficient in managing our requests. What made her service truly stand out, however, was her kind and gentle demeanor. She greeted us with a warm smile, made thoughtful recommendations, and treated every member of our party with genuine care and courtesy. Her sweetness and approachable nature created a welcoming environment that made us feel like valued guests rather than just customers.
It’s not every day you come across someone who embodies both professionalism and heartfelt hospitality so effortlessly. We left not only satisfied with our meal but genuinely grateful for such a pleasant and memorable service. Pine & Pie is lucky to have someone like her on their team.
We will definitely return—not only for the great pizza but for the outstanding service. Highly...
