I'm not one who takes joy in writing critical reviews, but regrettably my family and I's experience at Upland Brewing in Clay Terrence was mediocre. We were seated with relative ease, and then greeted by our server who told us she'd be right back. After some time later, a different employee came to our table and informed us he was a bartender, not a server, but he would be waiting on us. He had a pretty loose grasp of the menu, it would seem, as we requested certain items and were told they did not have them only to ask another employee who brought them to our table. I could continue to go into detail about how our experience went, but it could be summed up to the fact that we were told two employees called off and because of that, the entire restaurant was understaffed and unprepared to handle dinner service on only their 3rd day. Having never been to the Carmel location, this was a pretty unfortunate first impression, because the menu was interesting and food was good, but it would have been better had it been served in a timely manner and not cold. I will say, while I wasn't impressed with our "server," we interacted with multiple employees who were all very polite and helpful. Feels like our overall experience would have been infinitely better had the restaurant been properly staffed and prepared for their opening weekend. We'll likely give Upland Brewing another chance down the road, but this visit didn't have us raving to our friends about how we can't wait...
Read moreFood was very meh. I got the beer burger and the beer cheese was split and way overcooked. Fries were pretty good. The Nachos with spicy beef are a total miss. Most of the cheese was on the bottom of the paper. It also had random clumps of beans and four entire jalapeno slices. For almost $20 (with a small cup of sour cream), you might be better off trying something else. Our server showed up to take our order and when we paid. The rest of the folks here ran everything else out. One nice gentleman brought us waters until our server finally came over. The location is really nice. I could see this spot being successful if you are looking for some good drinks and a relaxed setting. Overall, I would try another spot. I will give it another try in...
Read moreWe stopped here after the going to Atlanta Earth Festival. Great atmosphere especially when the garage doors are open. Perfect place to catch a game and sip the awesome Off Hours Bourbon Peach Smash, which all by itself, is worth a visit. By the looks of it, they have a great selection of IPAs too. Our server, Vinny, was attentive and professional. The two negatives, are the flank steak tacos. You get $9 worth of food for the $18 price. Do not order if you hungry; most appetizers have more food. The second is somebody skipped bathroom duty in the women's restroom. My wife said the first stall was out of toilet paper and the second was clogged and nearly...
