We had a fantastic time when we painted with Santa in December so we booked to paint with the Easter Bunny as well. This event was a flop for us. There wasn’t space set aside for pictures with the Easter Bunny so you have random people in the background and in order to take a picture with the Easter Bunny you have to stand in the isle and block any foot traffic which makes for horrible pictures because you feel rushed. There was also very little to choose from as far as an Easter theme. Maybe two options besides an egg. The thing that really killed these events for us is when the Easter Bunny bumped into our table, knocking our son’s ceramic egg off of the table and breaking it. It wasn’t enough that was the very first egg of any kind that our son painted that broke but they still charged us for it even though their employee broke it. One of the other employees even said how the eggs had been rolling off tables all day. I get the “you break it, you buy it” policy in such a delicate business but we didn’t break it. I wonder how many other people were charged for a broken egg when they didn’t even provide anything to set the egg in. When we were finished we had to leave my husband’s egg on the table. For what? Someone else to bump the table and break it too? We already paid so they got our money. That’s all they care about. They also provide nothing to dry the brushes after cleaning them so you have to figure it out yourself unless you want to using a sopping wet brush in the next color. If you use your hands to ring out the brush then you can’t touch your ceramic because your hand is wet and the paint will come off. We had been driving from Plainfield to attend these events and we won’t be doing so in the future. So...
Read morePlease avoid this place! My husband and I walked into this establishment to meet some friends. Excited about painting, we eagerly sat down and waited to be greeted. The worker walked past us as she was putting items away and sweeping the store. There was no greeting, no “Hi, can I help you?” not even a, “I’m sorry, we’ll be closing in 30 minutes but feel free to come back tomorrow from 10-6.” Nothing. My friends and I decided that she must’ve had a long day and moved on. Five minutes later, a woman enters and before the door could close, the worker eagerly greeted her saying, HI! HOW CAN I HELP YOU?” Imagine my shock and disappointment. To give the employee the benefit of the doubt, I politely walked over to the check-out counter and was met with, “Ready to check out?” None of the enthusiasm that the last customer received was evident. I asked if the employee saw my husband and I come into the establishment. She said yes. I said, “Oh, ok. Well, we didn’t receive a greeting or any acknowledgement that we had entered your establishment.” She said, “Sorry.” Very disappointing. I’ll be letting my good friend who was planning to rent the place for her bridal shower know to select another business that is interested in serving people who look like...
Read moreWe have painted pottery many different places multiple times. We are new to the Indy area and this Carmel location is the closest to us. We arrived around 4:45 and were coldly greeted. There were 2 young women working and it was obvious they couldn’t get out of there fast enough. Being that we couldn’t go up and get the paint for our kids ourselves, I was shocked that neither employee checked on us the entire time. Also, little things like we couldn’t use the sink up front to wash our brushes or hands; we had to go to a separate bathroom in the back area. I accidentally spilled paint on my hands and there were no paper towels! I asked the employee and she said they don’t have paper towels. Like what?! It would be so convenient to have paper towels and to be able to use the sink close to the painting tables especially with littles. As a consumer and a frequent pottery painter, I feel the flow and over all experience could be better.. especially for the price...
