The Sea Merchants — Attraction in Carolina Beach

I was honestly surprised about this place. It's a great location. Most of the prices are responsible considering you're supporting the locals and not big box store. The staff is super super friendly and very down to earth. They were on first name basis with a lot of the customers that were walking in. Which made the place feel very warm and welcoming. The inside for the most part is clean and the shelves were neatly stocked which is much appreciated. The place did have a bit of a weird smell, but don't let that stop you from shopping here. It may have only been during the time we were there to visit. I do recommend this place to someone who's visiting looking for a convenient place to get groceries...

If it's a cute, convenient, seaside country store you're looking for, this is it! Family owned and run by Wonderful, friendly and caring people! They have it all...From fresh produce, meats,frozen and packaged goods,drinks, sundries for the beach, Big and little Beautiful🐚 shells,decor, household items,clothing,fishing gear, gifts,snacks,🥧🍰 ice cream,candies (taffy and those "Penny candy sticks") and So much more!! All great quality items! You'll just have to stop in to browse all the goodies.. Just be warned.. I hate to rate this place so low, especially a mom and pop shop with such nice staff, but it smelled like a used diaper pail in there. I could not bring myself to get any produce because the smell was so bad. It's clearly neglected, with broken windows and boarded up walls. This place is the perfect size for its location. With a little TLC and a deep clean could easily be 4-5 stars. To be fair, we visited right after the 100 year rain, but I saw other reviews with the smell so I have a feeling it's a...
