Esther Price Candies Corporation — Attraction in Centerville

I usually don't leave reviews but today I definitely am on behalf of my mother's visit this afternoon. My mother stopped into the Centerville location looking to purchase some chocolate on behalf of a family friend who is unable to get out and get it herself. The smug energy and distasteful attitude of the employees that engaged my mother while shopping is unexpectable. As my mother inquired with one particular employee to ask a question about a particular candy she was in search of the employee was extremely rude and cut her off before she could even finish her question. I don't understand why other than thee obvious difference in skin color between customers and employees why she was treated so rudely as if she was unwelcomed and her business was unwanted. It's truely unfortunate and sad that racism is still so prevalent in this day and age. I suppose some things never change. But rest assured she won't be back to the Centerville location ever again. However she did take her business to the Englewood location and was welcomed and had a very pleasant experience. Worst experience! My boyfriend and I went in for our 12 year anniversary for some of best chocolates in town. Left empty handed because the rude lady behind the counter was NOT WILLING to make me a box upon request. She asked me if we needed help. I told her yes, I need a 1/2 pound box made. I told her the 3 items I wanted it filled with. She processed to try and get me to buy prepackaged boxes. I said no, Im not interested. She asked me what I wanted again and again. How to satisfy your chocolate craving, including...beer brittle??! I've heard of Esther Price before and I've even had some chocolates from there which were high quality. However I had no idea the sheer variety of options there. They also have plenty of samples to try but you made it a yummy yummy visit! We tried something called beer brittle which was the only beer infused food I've tasted that actually rated like beer. If you like beer (which I don't really) then you'll really like it.
