Customer service and company not what it used to be! My family and friends have been long time customers (over 15 years). I have referred everyone I know. My parents grew up in Dayton and have lived in Centerville now for over 30 years. Every big occasion, we have gone to EDC. On my 10 year anniversary, after regular maintenance, I take my engagement ring and eternity bands (both purchased at EDC in 2010) to be cleaned and looked at. I get them back, the top eternity band has three diamonds fall out of it (after cleaning) when I have NEVER had an issue. We call the company, they take the ring back to fix, but charge us labor costs. I get the ring back, same thing happens, but more stones fall out. Call EDC again, “okay we will fix it but charge you labor.” Take the ring back, get it back, loose 10 stones within 24hrs. Call EDC back. No explanation except for the fact that my engagement band and two eternity backs are not soldered together. Mind you, bottom eternity band… no issues in over 10 years. Apparently my diamonds are falling out of the top ring bc the rings are not soldered together…They Charge us labor…. At this point, we have spent $1000 on labor to repair ring. EDC can’t fix ring. Calls designer to have replaced. The designer (of course) no longer makes eternity band. EDC offers to “re-make” band. But charge us. Despite the fact that WE NEVER had any issues before. Now, they remake ring. It’s beautiful. But at the cost of 3x what we spent initially.

The kicker, I sent the rings back to be soldered together (for free). Bc that’s what recommended so I don’t lose any more diamonds from my eternity bands. We will do it “for free” as a courtesy for all the trouble we have been through. Well of course, one of the prongs on my engagement ring (diamond) is loose. $300 later… it’s fixed. Wow. After all the trouble we went through. Still charge to have rings checked and soldered together.

We will no longer purchase anything from EDC. We have told everyone we know in Centerville and Dayton about it. Word spreads quickly. Would never have done this to a family owned company. But we are reasonable people, it is unbelievable how we have been treated.

EDC is NOT WHAT IT...

My fiancé and I definitely have a lot of great things to say about EDC and especially the sales manager/designer Cody Pinnick. Our first encounter with EDC is when my fiancé went there randomly and out of the blue to buy me a ring for our anniversary. The ring was and is beautiful, and the first thing she said to me after I opened it was “I really liked this place. It was cute and quaint and very personable and I think we should get our wedding rings from there.” So that is what we did and we are extremely happy with our decision.

We went to the Centerville store one day and spent hours looking at rings and that is when we met Mr. Cody Pinnick. We were talking to a different sales rep and were mentioning how we liked different aspects of all the rings and they told us that we could design our own and introduced us to Cody. My fiancé and I hit it off with him immediately. He is just awesome and we had a fantastic experience working with him on our jewelry. We consider him one of our really good friends now and will be honored to have him attend our wedding in less than a year.

We are both extremely picky when it comes to jewelry (and almost everything else in life), and Cody put in a lot of time to design two rings for us that we are absolutely in love with. We had complete control over how we wanted the rings to look and all the details and Cody would give his complete honest opinion only when we asked him for it. There was no pressure at all, and EDC worked strictly in our own personal budget.

We get a million compliments on our engagement rings, and it's a totally different feeling knowing that your ring is 100% unlike any other person’s in the world. I could write pages and pages about everything we love about EDC as a company and Cody as a person and as a sales rep as well as all the other people who work at the Centerville EDC store. We feel like family every time we walk through the door, and we couldn't imagine getting our rings/jewelry from any other place. Our experience with EDC and custom jewelry was fantastic. My husband and I wanted custom designed pendants as heirloom coming-of-age gifts for our daughters. We were seeking something truly unique so we started comparing advertisements and reviews for custom jewelry. EDC specializes in custom designed jewelry and every review we saw was favorable, so that’s where we went—and we were so glad we did. From our first meeting with Nadine we knew this was going to be a positive experience. Based on our first initial phone call she had done preliminary research and had some photo ideas prepared to show us immediately. Based on the rough idea we sketched out together she was able to immediately consult with the goldsmith and show us some stones and provide a quick cost estimate. We were able to hand pick the stones we used including having one stone custom cut to fit our design. Nadine was really helpful throughout the design phase, emailing us photos of preliminary design options and working out a lot of small details. After reviewing and approving the photos, EDC made a 3D wax model of the design and we had a second appointment to review the model. That combination of photos and models was great for helping us be sure the design was on target. The execution of the design was outstanding. Our final design involved intertwining white and yellow gold and the goldsmith did a fantastic job with extreme attention to detail. Everyone we worked with at EDC--Nadine, the jeweler who bought the stones, the CAD designer, and the goldsmith were professional, courteous, and patient with us as we evolved the original design. They were respectful of our ideas and offered suggestions on intricate details such as antiquing that we wouldn’t have thought of and ultimately made the final design truly special.
