Yessica M., please do better.
In all my visits to the Fresh Intl. Market, today's customer service was the worst I have experienced. It was not busy when I went to pay for 5 items at 11:02 am, today, Friday. I was the only one at the checkout with no one in front of me or behind me.
The cashier, Yessica M., was quiet which I thought nothing (certainly not negatively) of because that's usually been my experience while checking out at this store. I still apologized for holding up the process of paying, though again, no one was behind me in line because I was fumbling in my wallet to find/get the store card to accrue reward points which took at the most, still less than 30 seconds. When asked, Yessica, spoke for the first time, to let me know what my reward points were and I thanked her for the information.
As I got my credit card to pay, I requested that the receipt be placed in the bag but it was placed on the top flat surface of the bag carousel. No biggie at all. Thinking that Yessica mustn't have heard me, I asked again if the receipt could please be placed in the bag. To this request, she looked up at me for the first time, verbally told me "okay" while nodding her head and still left the receipt, as it was, on the top of the bag carousel.
Realizing that her actions were deliberate, maybe not the first time, but after the second request, I asserted myself and kindly said "I asked you to place it in the bag." Yessica responded, this time, saying "I heard you" as she nodded her head again. I asked for her name and nothing more was said as I exited the store.
This sour experience today, due to one individual who works at the store, will not deter me from continuing my shopping there. I am writing this review because it was an important reminder to note and share. One I hope Fresh Intl. Market as a whole will seriously consider, and Yessica will also consider reflecting upon, even as evident that I, myself, am.
That is, how one makes an honest living does not define who they are at their core, it only indicates what they do to make a living, have a job. But, doing your job, whatever that may be, one especially as direct as a customer facing job, like Yessica M.'s role as a cashier, ought to be done at the very least without the scrutiny and intensity of the poorest aspects of the human ego emanating from the cashier and directly manifesting in the poorest of customer service received simply over a placement of a receipt.
I hope the customers that have already come through Yessica's cashier lane since 11:02 am this morning have a better experience than the one I...

While it is not the largest store we have seen, the selection and variety of the products are well-balanced and adequate. The vegetable choices are pretty good, and the prices are reasonable. We did not see many fruit varieties there, but it did not bother us much. Overall, it was a great experience, and we would be happy to be a regular patron.
I am rating this 4.5 stars, but since there is no between scores, I am rating it 5 stars, because the small shortfall shouldn't warrant one star discount that may affect their overall ratings.
How I rate:- 1-2 stars - Businesses/professionals that do not meet the minimum standard of service. 3 stars - Businesses/professionals that meet the minimum standard of care/service and nothing more; or when they try to compensate for the lack of service by being really nice. 4 stars - Businesses/professionals that take extra effort to be friendly and meet the minimum expected standard. 5 stars - Exemplary service/products and customer...
Read moreToday, I went to the market to buy some groceries. When I checked out, the cashier Yessica M. gave me and my gf really bad attitude with a bad b** face. I asked to scan my reward card, she rolled her eyes on me and refused to communicate with me with words during the checking process. When we were done, she forced us to leave immediately and started to check in the next person, when we did not have much time to pick up and check our groceries. We found out that our receipt was missing, we went back to her. She looked at me and ignored me until another employee came by and ask me if I needed any help. I said I didn't get my receipt and immediately that bad cashier replied: you shouldn't walk away! I was very shocked becuase she was the one forced us away without giving us the receipt and scan the next customer. This is a extremely bad experience and I am deeply concerned about the...
