Balayage Girl Salon — Attraction in Charlotte

In response to the owner: Your assistant was the "business partner" I was talking about who you tried to get me to go with instead of you. Yes, I had this service done a year ago but i didn't JUST NOW get upset about it. I'VE BEEN UPSET. I'd been thinking that it has been a year since I got another cut and color and remembered the way this experience made me feel and finally decided to leave a review. what I would give to have not deleted the text chain with you where I had been left on read. You did in fact receive my texts. You responded the first time and left me on delivered twice. you patronize me by asking me if i'm reaching out to the right salon. Typical unprofessional behavior to act like i'm lying about reaching out to you WHEN YOU TOLD ME I COULD IF I WANTED A FOLLOW UP APPOINTMENT FOR BALAYAGE. I spent so much money with you all to be treated like you could care less about choosing to be a customer with your business. just another day in the office. I see what i meant to you as a customer now and I regret choosing this salon. My opinion is that you knew I wasn't satisfied and thought Maggie or whoever your assistant was could touch up my hair better. Maybe you weren't confident with dark brunettes. Or maybe you were busy or the top pick - you really did NOT care. Once again, ill reiterate - I'm DISGUSTED that you would think i'm lying and say i never sent you messages about my hair and that i had spent so much money to be ignored. I was not a valuable customer. Deplorable and a sorry excuse for a professional. It really shows in the final sentence of your response the level of care you have, the sarcasm specifically - might i quote "So sorry that a year later you are upset." Truly...I'm so disappointed in my experience here.

Original Review: I came here a year ago and had booked with Ashley. THE FULL PACKAGE. balayage, cut, hair conditioning treatment, and style - about 4 hours worth of time. The service was good. She had an employee tag team my hair with her because it was thick, long, and i'm a dark brunette. I did not like this because if two people are doing your hair the technique is going to be slightly off even if they try their best. I did notice after service that one side was very different from the other and there were much brighter tips on one side. I got the full service however and Ashley had even asked me if i was satisfied and that she didn't want me to leave if i wasn't, however, i did not want to stress my hair even more. i figured i could just make a decision in a few weeks. BEFORE LEAVING, I even bought one of her Italian Kin beauty kits or whatever ANNNNND the top tier hydrofacial. I SPENT A GOB with this business and she claimed i would be one of the last clients she was taking for the year and to text her if i wanted to come back. Well, i did text her and i asked for openings and she responded wanting me to create an appointment with one of her other associates, namely her business partner. I objected and claimed i wanted her and asked for openings further out then a few months AND SHE NEVER RESPONDED. I even sent her a follow-up text. I'm disgusted. I was probably their best client that DAY OR WEEK OR EVEN MONTH POTENTIALLY spent close to $1000 (PLEASE SEE ATTACHED PHOTO FOR MY CREDIT CARD STATEMENT) for her to just leave me like a leaf in the wind. I ALSO TIPPED 25% ON THE HAIRCUT AND 20% ON THE FACIAL MIGHT I GREGARIOUSLY ADD. you could probably check their instagram and scroll back to 9/28/2023 for my haircut if you're curious. I just let my balayage grow out. It wasn't the color i wanted it. It would've taken a couple more bleachings to get it to where I wanted it. In bad lighting taking selfies you couldn't even tell my hair had any kind of highlighting done....

“Disappointing Cut, Professional but Lacking Skill”

I wasn’t Going to write a review, but, I Feel that I have a responsibility to warn others. The hair cut was so awful I went to a nearby salon a few days later and paid $1200 for hair extensions to fill in the gaps. Not to mention the $100 haircut that Balayge girl charged me. A serious robbery.

I had high expectations for this salon, given its professional appearance and friendly staff, but unfortunately, my experience was far from what I hoped for. The stylist who cut my hair was very confident, which initially gave me some reassurance. However, as the cut progressed, it became clear that she was more excited than skilled. What was supposed to be “butterfly haircut” turned into something that resembled a mullet. The layers were uneven, and the shape was completely off. While the salon itself is lovely and the staff are all very polite, it’s clear that not all of the stylists have the experience or expertise you’d expect from a professional salon. I won’t be coming back for a haircut here again.

From now on, I will be traveling back home to New York Every time I’m in need of a haircut. Maddie on the other hand is wonderful at color, Especially for blondes. I would like to leave a 5 star review for Maddy but google is...

I can’t not rant and rave more about this salon and anyone looking for a new hair salon reading these reviews be advised you cannot go wrong with Balayage girl. Each of their stylist is insanely talented and very well educated by salon owner Ashley. I have gotten hair extensions, balayage, cut, blowouts, and buy products from here. You can’t go wrong with any of the stylist, the color line they use in addition to the hand painting or foils, is impeccable and they match your color profile completely. Everything they produce is truly art. If you’re in the charlotte area or considering traveling, this salon is well worth any drive and worth every penny. They exceed my highest expectations with my personal hair dreams and my daughter who’s just now at the age where she wants the “in” style and I’m still clinging to her youth. Lauren gave her the most fitting cut and blow out and in her chair you truly feel like your favorite cousin is doing your hair. Abigail hits it out of the park for my lived in blonde and Owner Ashley is such a master with my extensions. I would feel comfortable with any of their girls doing my hair, rest assured you’re in excellent care at...
