Beautiful, in a quiet neighborhood and well kept. There are lots of more private-ish areas along the pathways if you want to sit down and eat or rest. There's a good playground, basketball court, volleyball court, bathrooms and water fountains as well. It looks like there was an interactive water fountain (the kind that is designed for people to run through), but it was being serviced when I was there so I'm not sure that's actually what it was.

My son absolutely enjoyed himself at this beautiful park, not too crowded and everyone we ran into was a pleasant to talk to. My special needs son enjoyed himself and there was plenty of room for him to run around without bumping into the other kids. Beautiful park, beautiful picnic area, beautiful basketball court just everything was absolutely amazing. Wish we had parks like this back in my home town.

Every time I go to this park, there are always people having fun. They could be playing on the Hornets basketball court, having a cookout, utilizing the playground, or walking around. What's really cool about Latta Park, is that it has a hiking vibe to it without having to leave the city. This is true especially in the fall with all of the foliage!

My favorite park in Charlotte. We actually were talking to a woman who’s from North Charlotte today who loves the park and comes several times a week.

The playground itself is pretty shaded which is awesome. I never understood why most playgrounds are just baking in the sun, the plastic gets very hot and all you’re going to do is worry about the littles getting dehydrated or burnt out.

There is also a very nice splash pad there big enough for a good amount of people to enjoy. One of the better splash pads I’ve been to because the ground pools up a good 2-3 inches in some spots while it’s on. It’s also SLIGHTLY chlorinated which is also a feature I don’t see at other splash pads.

The park itself is huge, there’s a bike/walking path, and little exit points with picnic tables/grills.

There’s also a gazebo overlooking playground and splash pad. It has a grill there too.

Basketball court on the opposing side of playground.

Plenty of benches and walls to sit on.

This is your...

Look up Edward Dilworth Latta to see who the neighborhood and park are named after. There used to be a lake in this park that was drained and a pavilion and theater that were demolished. “Charlotteans strolled the shady paths that led them around Lake Forsythe and admired the flowers, lily ponds, and flowing springs.” -cmstory.org When I went a few months ago no one was social distancing and it felt very much so like the neighborhood it was located in. Very homogenous, pristine and clean. I prefer parks that have more nature and variety. Reedy Creek Nature Preserve is one of my favorites in Charlotte! This one felt a bit boring to me, especially compared to what it used to be historically. Unfortunately Charlotte has a pattern of destroying history...

Latta Park is a wonderful little gem. If you want a nice place to walk your dog or just take a stroll with a friend. This is a perfect place to go. If you have young children Latta has a playground. There is a covered overlook that has tables and a charcoal grill that would be a great gathering place for a group of people, but you would have to reserve the space through the Park Department. There are a few other grills and benches to have a picnic. I have seen people put up hammocks. It's a wonderful place to read or meditate. My favorite activity is to go birding and enjoying nature. There is...
