My favorite park in Charlotte. We actually were talking to a woman who’s from North Charlotte today who loves the park and comes several times a week.
The playground itself is pretty shaded which is awesome. I never understood why most playgrounds are just baking in the sun, the plastic gets very hot and all you’re going to do is worry about the littles getting dehydrated or burnt out.
There is also a very nice splash pad there big enough for a good amount of people to enjoy. One of the better splash pads I’ve been to because the ground pools up a good 2-3 inches in some spots while it’s on. It’s also SLIGHTLY chlorinated which is also a feature I don’t see at other splash pads.
The park itself is huge, there’s a bike/walking path, and little exit points with picnic tables/grills.
There’s also a gazebo overlooking playground and splash pad. It has a grill there too.
Basketball court on the opposing side of playground.
Plenty of benches and walls to sit on.

Very homogenous, pristine and clean. I prefer parks that have more nature and variety. Reedy Creek Nature Preserve is one of my favorites in Charlotte! This one felt a bit boring to me, especially compared to what it used to be historically. Unfortunately Charlotte has a pattern of destroying history...
Read moreLatta Park is a wonderful little gem. If you want a nice place to walk your dog or just take a stroll with a friend. This is a perfect place to go. If you have young children Latta has a playground. There is a covered overlook that has tables and a charcoal grill that would be a great gathering place for a group of people, but you would have to reserve the space through the Park Department. There are a few other grills and benches to have a picnic. I have seen people put up hammocks. It's a wonderful place to read or meditate. My favorite activity is to go birding and enjoying nature. There is...
