Smoothie King — Restaurant in Charlotte

Of the 4 or so Smoothie Kings in the area, this is by far the worst. Only come here out of convenience when I’m in the area and it is consistently not good. Smoothies are either wrong or missing ingredients, service is extremely poor, and today there was only 1 person working who happened to be brand new (I had to repeat what smoothie I wanted 4 times because she didn’t know it was on the menu - the Peanut Power Plus which even says “favorite!” next to it). I also tried to use my rewards to get money off my order, but she didn’t know how to use the scanner because she was not trained how to do so she said. I understand people being new at their job, but maybe don’t leave a brand new employee alone when she still doesn’t know how to operate things solo? A 5-10 stop turned into about a 20 minute ordeal. When i finally got my smoothie, it was watery and missing ingredients, to include the main ingredient in a meal replacement smoothie, Whey protein. Avoiding this location from here on - go to the one in Uptown or down...

I’ve been to many Smoothie King locations and usually have a decent experience, but tonight’s visit was absolutely unacceptable. I paid nearly $10 for a smoothie that tasted like nothing but milk and flour — completely off from what I ordered and definitely not the standard I know this company can meet. Something was clearly wrong with it.

What made it worse was the atmosphere and staff. I visited on Monday, June 9th, 2025, at 8:30 PM, and was met with snickering as soon as I walked in directly at me and rude attitudes from the three employees working as if they were mad a customer walked in during normal business hours. The energy in the store was tense and unwelcoming. Several people were waiting for their food, and it felt like the staff couldn’t care less. They looked irritated to be there and made the whole experience uncomfortable.

I visit smoothie king all the time and generally get great service at most locations. I also give good surveys on their site for positive experience but I must say the customer service rep named Caroline at this location was very rude. No greeting when we came in, literally a blank stare I'm assuming because they were closing in 10 minutes. I asked for a specific drink along with my girlfriend because of our strict diets and she disregarded what I asked for and thought it was ok to mix them in the same blender but anyone who follows a macrobased diet knows that is too sloppy of a procedure to track macros. When we asked her not to do that she started slamming all of their tools because she started over.
