Been to this venue a few times most recently was for zeds dead outdoor and the afters indoor & I must say they got us from outside to inside and outta the cold very swiftly. Also at one point I got very overstimulated and kinda panic attack like. Staff & the onsite cop were very helpful in getting me to calm my nerves and find a quieter spot to regroup. Couldn’t have asked for better compassion from then. Also directed me to where I could get some earplugs and that came in lots of handy. I was able to bring my hydro pack in to the afters as well (idk if you can for strictly indoor shows tho) but they do seem to be a little more lenient on bag policy than some venues (granted they search the hell out of them, as they should) but for a girl like me having a bag to put my feminine products, lipstick and bought merch etc in comes in super clutch. Also being able to coat check during the cold months is amazinggggg! I wasn’t aware that they had lockers until reading the reviews but I’m very curious to how those work, because that would be the most ideal honestly. Hopefully not too expensive like ive seen at some venues/festivals. Water could be slightly cheaper (at least the last time I bought water it didn’t seem cheap, but that was a while ago) none the less this venue is the best of the best for edm venues in NC. Hands down! Sound system goes crazyyyyyy. Bring earplugs so you don’t get over stimi like I did hahaha. Production and lasers are always top notch. Its the perfect amount of spacious and intimate all in one. Dont walk but run and grab some tickets. Hope to see some of you amazing wooks and inzo this Friday. March 29th. Catch me rocking my pink inzo jersey ☺️🫶🏽💕

Simply one of the very best EDM and music venues Charlotte has ever had. The music varies from show to show, but the majority are House, Techno, or Bass Music. Everything about Blackbox is a 10/10. The “big ass” fans on the high ceilings make for plenty of airflow. The enormous 20,000 square.ft.open space gives off total 90’s/00’s rave vibes and is well concealed in the industrial area of NODA on E.Sugar Creek Rd. The staff are super friendly and the owner, Jay himself was once the guy behind the notorious venue, “The Chop Shop.” The level of details and amount of audio/visual technology that have gone into this warehouse are absolutely staggering. The huge “double level” layout which includes the main area (where the control booth is also located)plus “the pit” located on the dance floor in front of the dj booth allows for ample space no matter where you are. The visuals are totally top notch, and with every show, a nice mix of high-tech, automated lighting and LED video screens are provided. The sound system is what BB is well known for it will blow your mind and is one of the best in the Carolina’s hands down. Awesome clarity and unforgettable, punishing bass from a horde of BASSBOSS subwoofers will rattle your brains including the newest “Kraken” which is a quadruple 21” sub arrangement in a single box!!! If I had to make a guess I would say at least a quarter of a million was invested into the sound system. Trust me , wear earplugs to protect your hearing peeps! So if you’re looking for a legit place to hear proper EDM, look no further than Blackbox, you won’t be disappointed! Keep up the great work guys and see you soon! Much love!

The venue was gorgeous and the staff was incredibly friendly. I would recommend this venue if you have disabilities, as their staff was seen on multiple occasions making accommodations for concert goers with special requirements. They brought out seats for people in the floor and even carried drinks from the bar down to those in wheelchairs or who had other mobility issues. The sound and view is phenomenal from everywhere in this venue. I was standing on the wheelchair ramp during the Onewe concert and had perfect view of the entire stage. There are no issues with sound anywhere you stand in the venue. The only downside of this venue is their parking lot. Please be careful when going through. It is busted and broken down concrete and I broke my foot coming through the parking lot on the way out of my concert. Please make sure you wear stable shoes and definitely bring your own light source.

The venue itself is pretty good including the staff. Atmosphere, and the area is nice. Good accessibility. The reason for 3 stars is because of the security and clearly lots of miscommunication. Me and my dad were in the pit at the back next to the stairs where you can lean on cause his back isn’t the best. Well halfway into the third set security comes in and shines a light at him, and three other people telling them to come out. Once they actually came over to tell them that my dad without any problem followed them. This other lady whose a mom with her kid who literally weren’t doing anything wrong and having a good time, was trying to get answers as to why they were being taken out. Yeah I understand the noise but grabbing her by the arm for protecting her son who was clearly scared/confused by the very clearly power tripping security. I along was trying to ask what was going on like many people just to have a hand in my face ignoring me. I was trying to let them know he was my dad but they didn’t want to listen to me. The night itself was nice and chill except for that. Not a single “I’m sorry” was ushered after this. Also the reason they were taken out is because they “saw” my dad and the other people “selling” drugs😑. You literally have security at the door (who are actually nice and were great) who check these things. They were very thorough in searching. But even then they said they “saw” it. Didn’t even try to makeup for it. But other than that good venue. Just hire less high blood pressure...
