I wasn’t going to say anything but I’m tired of being quiet for the convenience of others. I had been bringing my dog here since 2021 and it was all good vibes but somehow the staff has a new batch of girls who seem like “mean girls”.
On October 4th I dropped my dog off for grooming around 8/9am. A few hours later. I got a call from the groomer expressing my dog had a “health concern”. Thinking he may have fell sick or something I questioned the health concern. I was adviced that my dog was “nicked” in the ear from the cutting blades and it wasn’t too bad and he was doing fine. I picked him up and noticed the nick was pretty deep, but my dog is pretty resilient. I didn’t take any close up photos because the knick was behind his fur. I let it go.
Fast forward on December 3rd I called to make an appointment for December 4th for a full bath and groom with a haircut. I was very specific in my request. I wanted to give them a second chance for the “health concern”.
I get to the location on December 4th and upon check in I had to provide his vaccinations. I had a receipt for his vaccines for the day prior and I didn’t want to share the details on how much I paid for services so I sent a copy from his Banfield record. They would not accept the copy I sent from online as it did not have the due dates. The girl called the Banfield hospital but was on hold. After about 5 minutes of waiting I advised I would just go pick up the vaccine record myself and bring it back (which I did).
Once I returned I provided the documents and advised the girl at the front desk they could keep the documents, but since I didn’t want to share my original document that had my payment information, she gave a underhanded comment of “well this has your personal information on it”. I advised her she could shred it, she said they don’t have one (but yet they have an office adjacent to the front desk).
Further, once I returned I was told that my appointment was for a groom and not a cut and that the girl who does grooming/cuts does not work on Wednesdays.
Whomever the girl was checking me in, he aura was extremely off. The two (2) other girls also had of putting energy.
My dog has anxiety and when he is around people he tends to become very overstimulated. I had him on his leash, but as others brought their dogs in, they would allow their dogs to get close to mine and my dog would get overstimulated. Definitely a disrespect to me and my dogs personal space. Now, this is making me overstimulated and stressed out. I was doing everything I could to contain his overstimulation by holding his leash tighter and putting my foot on it. I guess the girls thought I was being mean to my dog but I don’t wasn’t. My dog is 7 years old and takes anti anxiety medication. I was even more proactive by giving him a dose before his appointment.
Confused and overstimulated, I rescheduled for another day. I called another location who advised that my appointment was for a groom and cut for December 3rd. I went back inside to confront the girl at the front desk who advised it was an actual groom but not a cut. At that point I wasn’t sure who I could trust due to the aura I felt. However, I decided to just cancel the appointment because I was extremely disappointed in the subtle rude aura given to me in addition to how my dog was treated as a “health concern” during his previous appointment in October. I am not sure why, and I don’t care to know why.
I tried to give them benefit of the doubt from the cut my dog had from the previous groom/cut but this time I decided to trust my gut and no longer return to this location. The same girl that checked me in on December 3rd was the same girl that checked me in today. I will NOT be returning to this location.
I was intentional in calling them girls because that’s exactly how they acted.
I kept my cool because they wanted me to react, they don’t even deserve that type of attention from me. Be miserable on your own and to the groomer, please up your grooming/cutting game and stop playing with...

We decided to take our dogs to PetSuite Prosperity Ridge for two main reasons - location and time drop off/pick up flexibility. We live fairly close and were excited when we saw this facility opened. I have taken my dogs (past and present) to Camp Wagging Tails (loved, but drop off/pick up were too limited), Club Fetch (when lived downtown Charlotte) and Pet Paradise (really liked but was pretty far, and not as convenient to get to for us). However, when considering PetSuites Prosperity Ridge, please note the following two major issues we encountered:
1 - False advertisement on their website . On their site, they state: "Our large open areas feature: Spacious indoor and outdoor yards, Multiple play structures and yards for all sized dogs with enough room to zoom for all energy levels, Raised beds throughout for those that need a break from playing, Ample water bowls and overhangs to provide shade, Pool parties in our in-ground, bone-shaped swimming pools,
What to know: This PetSuites location does NOT have an outdoor play area nor does it have a swimming pool. Our dogs are about 60 pounds each and really enjoy running outside, so we were disappointed when we showed up for our evaluation day and did not see this. When we did the tour, they also said that the regular suites did not have the beds, whereas their web site states "Classic Suite: Our canine guests enjoy a spacious, private suite including plush bedding..."
2 - K9 influenza vaccination required. In the FAQ on their website, it states they "need proof of the DHPP, Rabies, Bordetella, and Canine Influenza (H3N8 and H3N2) vaccines. Your pet must have at least the first round of the 2 part Canine Influenza series in order to visit us." We must have missed this when we signed up for their trial day. No one every spoke to us about it and it was clear in their records they did not have this vaccine. We even took one dog there for a half day play and nothing was said to us again. When we decided to go ahead and do another half day play, about a day and half after requesting the day, we got a text from PetSuites stating we needed their K9 influenza records. They even said they had a 30 day waiver that they offer at their first STAY. That wavier allows you 30 days to get the process started. Initially, it is a series of two shots The first shot is good for one month followed by a booster and then going forward annually they should get another booster. HUH? Why do they need this if there is a waiver option in the first 30 days?
One of our dogs got this vaccination several years ago when there was an 'outbreak' of K9 flu, but they have not recommended the booster or shot for my other dog since. I also check competitors in area (Pet Paradise, Skip Town, Camp Wagging Tails, Club Fetch) and none of them require this vaccine. Seems like a lot of hoops to jump through and money to spend for something they aren't monitoring consistently.
Unfortunately, we do not plan to go back to PetSuites...
Read moreI waited a couple of weeks to post, because I was so mad. I went through hoops to have my dog here, with a couple vet visits because they require the flu shot that isn't automatically required. 💸 I boarded my dog here for 5 days for a work trip. I paid for 6 hours of play (surprise ..EVERYTHING is a fee..even food. That is not marked on website. Just didn't have the energy to fight the fees at pickup) Anyways....I paid for 6 hours of play because I want my dog to have that engagement time as she gets depressed if alone for too long. I had her in the facility for a full 8 hours a prior day to have her evaluated. My dog is a 55lb dog and by no means small, but she is super shy and sometimes prefers smaller dogs. I told them I didn't care what group she played with, whatever is comfortable for her. They had her evaluated and said she prefers medium play, ok...cool. I go on my trip. It was super hectic. But kept logging on and couldn't see her on camera on any given day. I told myself not to stress, that it was probably random moments that she was given a break from play time. When I came to pick her up, I asked about why I didn't see her on camera. The girl at the desk stiffened up and got awkward and asked for a manager out of the office. The supervisor was super nice, but went on to explain that they had never evaluated her for large dogs and decided on DAY ONE that she shouldn't be with medium dogs after all. FIRST OFF ....why did I have her there for 8 hours for evaluation for them to not have a 55lb dog checked for large group play. ALSO....Where was my phone call??? As her parent, I should have received a call on DAY ONE. I would have been more than happy to have her evaluated at that point. Not just have her locked in a crate all week. Something I obviously didn't want as a paid for max play time. She doesn't even crate at home. She was super anxious when I got her. The manager apologized up and down and how this was a big miss in communication...YOU THINK?! I was super nice and respectful, and still paid, even though in my opinion they should have comped that stay. I was told the general manager would reach out, surprise. They obviously don't care and did not. How 5 days can go by and not even contact me is crazy. How two weeks post this happening and not a care, is even crazier. Doooo not board your fur baby here,...
