I'd been playing with a set of PXG clubs for over a year, that were fitted over the phone. When they opened the Charlotte store, I decided to upgrade and go through the whole fitting experience. My best friend, my son, and I took the trip to Charlotte and had a blast. My buddy and I were both fitted for the full bag deal, and I let my 13 yr old son, who is new to the game, pick out the putter of his choice for a fitting. From the moment we walked in the door, the staff treated us like old friends. As they carried our old bags in from the truck, I commented that I'd never had a caddy before! Once I started the process with Joe Glass, he was very informative about what we were doing and why, and also patient. There were also some stories thrown back and forth, and it was an awesome experience. For those who've never been through the fitting process, I equate it to the eye doctor "which looks better? A...or B? A...or C? C...or D?" That's how they go through the adjustment process. I also picked up two dozen of the new golf balls because they had a few left and they were out of stock on the website.
I've played two rounds with the new clubs and balls (and I've only lost two). I'm hitting the ball straighter, farther, and for once in my life, getting some backspin approaching the green. My son is putting very well, but has yet to use the set of PXG irons and Driver that I handed down to him. He was stoked about a custom built putter though.
I'd highly recommend the brand and the process to anyone looking to improve their game. Researching the company and the owner, Bob Parsons, will lead you down a very interesting rabbit hole as well!!!

Read moreMy wife and I were on Vacation traveling up the East coast when I saw PXG had a location 2 and 1/2 hrs away. When I called in I spoke with Alex Oren. I advised her that I would be coming by the shop the next day and could not make an appointment due to not knowing what time I would be there because of possible traffic delays. She said that was fine just come on and she would be there. When I walked in Alex greeted me not even knowing who I was with a smile on her face. Alex took very good care of my wife and me. She immediately took me back to the simulator room and began sizing me for a set of irons knowing that is what I came there for. This was a great experience and she was very nice and informative. She spent time with me and knew that we still had another 3 hr drive until our next location. I did end up purchasing the irons while I was there. The experience with Alex and her other members of her team was phenomenal. I highly recommend that you go in and let their team work with you. The irons I purchased improved my distance by a lot. Thank you again to Alex and her other team members. If you get a chance I highly recommend this location as they will work with you with care! After a custom fitting, I purchased a driver only because the salesman, Joe Glass, promised it would be delivered to the store prior to my return to the UK a week later. I was supposed to pick it up the day before departure, but while tracking the shipment it became apparent the club would arrive to PXG Charlotte two days too late. I called the store to see why a rush wasn’t put on it to guarantee delivery when promised and what could be done to subsequently ship it to the UK only to be told they couldn’t ship overseas and that I could change my flight! After being promised a full refund, I ended up purchasing the same club at PXG UK (AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE and experience, exactly the opposite of PXG Charlotte) which I would have done to begin with and would have been happy to do had I been told there was a possibility of transferring my fitting details and/or that the club wouldn’t arrive before I left the US. It took nearly two weeks and multiple emails before the refund came through and when it did, it was $78 short of the full refund. At this point, I’m done dealing with them. What a hassle.
