Great quality and the best matched NY/NJ roller/doobie in the area. However, every dominican salon I've frequented posts their prices, except this one. I was told my touch up would be $65 incl. doobie, but at the end was charged $80. I have never paid even close to this in all of my 28 yrs of getting a relax/style. I felt my Jersey attitude coming out but was able to compose myself & just pay. I actually elicited a migraine thinking about how I was wronged. They charged extra for using another container of perm; why they didn't tell me in advance behooves me. Most salons buy in bulk and don't charge extra. I'm not natural and dont have alot of hair. The sister gave me $10 deep conditioner without telling me this was the cost. I have never been scammed like this in my life. Lesson learned: demand they tell you all cost upfront and no extras without disclosing costs. Their quality is superb but not worth $100 unless you're getting a weave. For someone use to paying $25 - $50 max for relax/doobie; it was difficult to process. Update: I am giving them 1 more chance to rectify this issue. After reading all of the reviews with the same sentiment about pricing disclosures, I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and the state board to complain if it happens again. It's not good business and they don't get away with this in N.Y. We are being taken advantage of.
In response to owners reponse: Thank you for your response. I never requested more than a touch up and you are aware of this as I contacted you via messenger requesting only a touch up and also we spoke verbally on the phone that morning. Upon being seated, I reiterated the same to your sister. Secondly, she asked me about the ($10)deep and I declined; most perm kits include deep conditioner. I was never told about other options. I did not have my ends clipped as she said I did not need that service as I inquired with her about it. She did voluntarily give me a treatment which I did not request and hopefully wasn't charged for. I did buy the ($10) hair net and ($2) bobby pins.
The point is I am one of many customers who has addressed the issue of non-disclosure of your prices. This issue can be resolved by you having a pricing list posted as most salons/nail salons/spas. Your current practice is perceived as a deceitful manner of doing business. Perform a consultation of a customer's hair needs prior to providing any service, so we can make informed decisions, you're given that right in healthcare. Everyone isn't as well off as you may assume and I never planned to pay to pay more than $60 for my relaxer which is fair. She didnt say I need more than 1 container which I've never needed. My ends were already straight. I do plan to give you all another chance due to the results in which I was very pleased however I will expect a full disclosure of cost prior to beginning any services and I will...
Read moreBlack people, if you want to keep your natural hair and keep it healthy, don't go to this salon. They don't know our hair. They can't consult on our hair. They don't know how to trim hair, never going on the inside of the hair to trim, only just the bottom. They use color products that have keratin in it and don't tell you!!!! I've been natural for over 10 years. I got color, and the lady that can't speak English at all put that product in my hair without asking or telling me. She always seem to need someone to translate for her. Never used her before. Now I will say most all are very friendly, they do an excellent job at washing the hair very well and they are efficient with time. But they do not know how to treat our hair, nor do they ask questions or consult you on your hair. Not very skilled. They just fry your hair to death! My hair was so very healthy until this last visit. I am so hurt and disappointed. I had to cut off ALOT of my hair. After my appointment, the following week washing my hair was when I noticed it was semi staight. It thin my hair out very quickly. Yes, I really like this salon. But the language barrier, and lack of knowledge of black hair and the blanton disregard of even a consult, and purposely slipping keratin in your hair. I will say the owner will consult, not the others. The owner has the skill and experience, i think. This Salon seems to be all about getting you in and out, which is fine but the problem with that is they dont talk to the client thoroughly about expectations about our hair and nor give what you request. She, the Colorist, ruined my hair. She represents the salon, which is why I say the Salon. A lesson learned. I will never go back there. I advise you to exercise extreme caution. KNOW YOUR STYLIST, KNOW YOUR COLORIST... they dont try to know you. They just dig in. In my opinion, they do not care about our hair, nor do they know how to treat our hair, NOR do the consult on our hair. Yes, this it the first time I've had this problem with them. Yes, I've been going for about 5 years, and they did an excellent job. I always ask for a specific person to do hair. This time, she wasn't there; I got HER! I had another friend that had this same issue, them putting keratin treatment in the hair and NOT or ASKING or TELLING YOU, which i would've said heck No!! Such blanton dissrespect! I hate this because i really did like them a lot. I'm so disappointed.. So very hurt that now the condition of my hair is ruined. One person can ruin a business. NO LINGER TRUST THEM! If one does it, others may too!! The trust is lost... obviously they operate on don't ask...

These women work their butts off every day, and if you wonât give them the respect they deserve then you donât deserve Respect either I love this salon, and I intend to keep coming here for...
