Purchased a brand new Proboat Impule 32 from OSE, took a full week to receive it, upon arrival and unboxing, I was was surprised to see the original box already cut open and someone had been in it already. The transmitter had been removed from its original box and bubble wrap, and was just sliding around in the boat box, as were the AA batteries that come with it.....unbelievable that he would ship one out in this condition. I put new batteries in the transmitter, and it doesn't work, when I try to turn it on, it flashes green, makes a buzz sound, and flashes red,...it repeats this until you turn it back off. Then I removed the hatch, and one of the thick ESC power wires, the blue one, is not plugged into the ESC, it's just laying there. I try to plug it in, and it slides right back out, no resistance at all, just slides on and off. I gave the other two wires a slight tug and they are firmly plugged in. So, now I have a new boat from OSE, that was kind of expensive for me, that I can't run because the transmitter is defective, and the ESC has the loose fitting terminal end. Its July 1st, OSE doesn't have a phone number you can call, so I try to email them, get an auto reply....we're closed till July 8th, won't even answer emails, have a happy 4th! Hey OSE, I'll be happy when you send me a new boat in a unopened box, that runs and works like new,...because that's what I paid for. Ill post again,, soon, and let people know what OSE has to say for themselves., and how they resolve this. P S....Horizon, and the owners manual, say it has a 2 year warranty, we'll see what they do about this defective Impulse 32 July 9th, update....realized what happened. After they had my money, 549.99, dishonest OSE employee needed a new DX3 Transmitter, so he cuts open my box, takes the DX3 out of its box, removes the bubble wrap, puts the broken Transmitter in the bottom of the boat box, and ships it to me. You got caught OSE, why else would you cut open a new, undamaged factory sealed box , remove the brand new Tx from its box and bubble wrap? Remember, I had already paid for it when...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOSE wouldn't refund an ESC that was shooting fire out the side after it was test powered. Best they could do was a store credit on account of the item being used. Used? Really dude? Certainly no concession on shipping costs which had to be absorbed two-fold to receive and send back the incendiary device back to Off$^it.
Bottom line: if something goes wrong, you'll regret ever giving these guys your credit card information. Caveat Emptor...
Update:
The remarks from the "owner" were written only after a PayPal claim was filed at which point, OSE backpedaled into a refund strictly for the cost of the defective item. My request over the value of the literally explosive product OSE sent me was for a reimbursement for the above referenced shipping costs to send it back to them. The way they wrote it, I was somehow trying to extort them.
Not that anyone cares, but the product in question worked at first when test powered with a 3S battery. When a 6S battery was attempted, well within the tolerances of a 130 AMP ESC, queue the pyrotechnics.
By the way, if the owner guy keeps on writing rebuttals to this "he doth protest too much"(in high-pitched...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBeen dealing with OSE for over ten years lots of parts and a couple boats. I don't understand how anyone can try to hold them responsible for electrical parts and cables. If you have been doing this as long as I have you take risks on electrical and cables, they should be inspected all the time especially when they don't even look like the same replacement .OSE is not there when your doing your own work to see if its rite or not . When I work on my stuff ,I know this going in. Even MERCURY MARINE does NOT and has NEVER warrantied electrical parts for over 50 yrs Chip's...
