I will say this…. The gentleman who did my sons road test exam today was great and has very good people skills. Now for everything else. Yesterday was the original appt. We arrived followed the signs and got in line. This is our first time so we aren’t 100% sure how it’s done in NJ. The gentleman pulls us up and tells us my son can’t test if he doesn’t have NJ plates; so we leave. We go back today with a car with NJ tags. Pull up to the same spot and another gentleman (very professional) looks at my son and asks if we are here for a road test? My son says yes and he says “oh your in the wrong line and directs us.” PERFECT. Just so it’s clear “YOU DO NOT NEED NJ TAGS”. We go to the section where the road test is to be completed and there is a sign that states “stay in your vehicle and lists everything you need to have ready. BEAUTIFUL. There was a car in front of us and they were there a while and left because no one ever came to the car. We pull up sit and wait. No one comes to the car. Since this was our first time I get out the car and go into the small building. I thought I may have to check my son in and let them know we are there. I politely went inside and saw four men. Three of them were speaking amongst themselves and hanging out inside the air conditioned building. The one gentleman that was on his own spoke to me. I ask “do I have to check my son in?” He replies “no. someone will come out.” I replied “okay no problem I just wasn’t sure since we have been waiting and no one had come out or gave any other direction.” As I’m speaking one of the three men having what appears to be a rough day states rudely “the sign says stay in your car…” I ignore him and walk out the building and I go to the car. That is when the building empties out, as these men end up flowing out of the building. The one rude employee exits the building and felt the need to say “I don’t understand why people can’t follow directions” along with more unnecessary comments. I clearly was not about to get into an argument because this is not about me. I was not about to allow him to ruin an important and special day for my son. But let’s be clear had HE and the others he was having a grand ole’ time with inside the building been doing their JOB I would have never had to enter the building. When he came outside he skipped my son and got in a car that had just pulled up. The only professional employee I encountered is who did my son’s test and it all went well. All this to say they should probably re-train their employees to have better customer service. Instead of acting like immature teenagers on the job with snide comments. Thank you to the two gentleman who were helpful today. You are...
Read moreI just moved to New Jersey and got my 1 year old car registered at the NJMVC. The next step is to get an inspection sticker. I went to this station in Cherry Hill. New cars do not need to be inspected for 5 years but still need an inspection sticker. You are supposed to take the card you are given at NJMVC registration to the Manager at the inspection station and not wait in line for an inspection. I drove into the parking lot to look for some sign designating where the manager's office is located. The lot is milling with people there to take the behind the wheel driver test. I made two loops through the lot and could not find any any office markings so I went to the line for inspection which was empty. They waved me into the inspection station and then proceeded to scold me for not reading the sign that tells me where to park. There is a 20"x14" sign near the exit of the inspection station building on the edge of the 3 acre parking lot that designates 4 parking spaces for new vehicles to get a sticker. The sign says to proceed to the managers office but the people working there said to just sit in your car and someone will come out with a sticker. More contradiction. Someone did come out after about 10 minutes. They scraped off my old out of state sticker and slapped on the new one good for 5 years. Unfortunately they did a terrible job removing the old sticker. I can still read the old one that is partially covered by the new one. The people here are unfriendly and condescending bordering on rude. The signage is a joke. Don't expect to be able to find what you are looking for if you are depending on getting directions from the existing signs. If you have an out of state inspection sticker, remove it before you get there, otherwise you'll be looking at the apathetic, crappy work of an uninspired motor vehicle worker for the...
Read moreSo this is a bit of a story. I recently just got a new car, the car came with tint on the windows. So when it was time for me to go to inspection they told me that I had to have a space cut out for the inspection sticker I said okay. So I had to leave and come back another day because I only could go on my day off. One of the inspectors told me it needed to be a 6x8 and she had this little cut out cardboard piece to show me how it should be cut I said okay cool so I took the picture of it just so I know how to cut it from when I come back. So the second time I come back like 2 weeks later I had it cut the way that the first inspector told me I should have it cut. So when I got there the second inspector told me that it needed to be cut 6x8 diagonally not vertically when the first girl told me something different now my tent is messed up and I still don't have a sticker so while I was trying to explain to the second inspector she completely was dismissive wasn't trying to hear what I was trying to say and I felt very disrespected and it was very unprofessional. Apparently none of them know how it's supposed to be cut because I was told two different ways. No one is going to reimburse me for my tint being messed up now. Very unprofessional and very disrespectful would not recommend coming to this inspection location. Wasted my time the second time when they could have just told me that the first time I was there to cut it diagonally instead of vertically I only followed the way that she told me to cut it from how she placed it on the window. I'm so aggravated. Just go...
