volunteered here for parish once and am able to receive help as well but very restricted. You have to fill.out a form and present your ID every time you go. The pick up is a car line where they put the bagged items in your trunk so you can't choose what you do/ don't need and a lot of it was expired, spoiled the same/next day and not a lot of meat items or paper or cleaning products. They could use more volunteer groups especially younger kids who want service credits. The parking situation has not been resolved yet but I understand it's in plan since they just moved to this new location. You have to be a resident with proof from specific townships in Camden County only otherwise you have to apply for separate eligibility even though technically they are supposed to service any families in need on Wednesdays. The items may be different and depending on your eligibility, household and income you can only go once or twice a month. Hopefully they'll get more donations and sponsorships for non food items too. Volunteers work very hard and dedicated especially...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreyou have to wait in a queue for curbside pickup. you cannot choose what items are already pre- bagged for you by volunteer crew that day. Volunteers work hard and are so nice. You must be within county limits and meet eligibility guidelines because donations are limited for families in most need. You fill out a form and present your ID each time you come usually 1-2x month on your assigned day depending on your qualifications. Mostly produce or non perishable pantry items though they are trying to get more household type goods but it varies month to month based on their donations. It is a variety and enough to last at least two weeks for one individual, so a family could get more based on their income, size and ages. Only downside is that a lot of the perishable food we received was already spoiled or thawed and expired so definitely go through it thoroughly before you consume and immediately store in your fridge. Street parking is limited to staff so stay in your vehicle until you are instructed to open your trunk for non...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFor a while I've been going through quite a bit, cancer, deaths, part time work, no food, etc. etc. My kitchen cabinets were just about empty. My refrigerator and freezer the same. I've been praying that God would show me, since I'm kind've new to the area, where I could get help, at least until work picks up. I was online looking for food banks and the first one to pop up was Cherry Hill Food Bank on Beechwood Ave. My God, the staff is AWESOME! from the outside to inside the building. There concern, their kindness and their generosity was overwhelming! I cried all the way home to see how much food and other much needed items I was blessed with. I have one request before God...that he multiply and blessed them each for how they are blessing the community. This kind of help is not to be taken lightly. Lord bless and continue to increase each of them in every area of their...
