The looping path is about 1.9 miles long, but you can add an extra tenth of a mile if you head off trail to the Missouri River. It's pretty clear when you need to leave the path to get to the river lookout, worn from many people heading off path. The path is flat, so it would be a great place to put some miles in.
The view around doesn't change much, so you aren't going to get a change in scenery. However the number of trees the beavers have chewed up was fascinating! Every direction you look is another stumpy tree trunk or evidence of fresh gnawing. It was absolutely incredible. We didn't see any actual beavers, but we did see potential dens/holes on the bank of the lake.
You can also see evidence of flooding if you look closely at the tree trunks. Well, maybe not closely. Read moreRight off the greenway. I'd like to see the world a park and everything a greenway. As well as no ads or billboards. Everything free cause people share their abundance. No more industry that pollutes any body of human land or water. No more governments cause people are in touch with how they feel and natural law/ common sense. Complete integrity on every level. In sync w the whole universe forever....
Read moreNice little park in the Chesterfield Valley. It is a 1.65 mile loop around a small pond. Very easy hike. Flat surface with no elevation except a very small incline to get to the trail from the parking lot. The main trail is gravel, and there is a mulched trail as well. In the far northwest corner of the trail, you can take a small trail, go over the levee, and see the majestic Missouri...
