A Summer Exclusive Story in Chicago š | The Centennial Ferris Wheel at Navy Pier š” As one of the main attractions at Navy Pier, the Centennial Ferris Wheel stands at 200 feet, offering a 360-degree view of Lake Michigan. Few people know that the worldās first Ferris wheel actually debuted at the 1893 Chicago Worldās Fair. At the time, structural engineer George Ferris proposed the idea of building a āgiant metal wheel.ā It was a bold vision, and after extensive research and testing, Ferris successfully invented a massive wheel that rotated around a central axis, complete with 36 small compartments. This was the very first Ferris wheel, standing at 264 feet tall and providing a roughly 10-minute ride for visitors. For many, it took them to heights they had never imagined and offered views they had never seen before. Over 1.4 million people paid 50 cents to ride it. Despite its popularity, the Ferris wheel faced financial troubles after the fair ended. It was dismantled, moved to North Clark Street, and eventually sold. Nearly 110 years after the original Ferris wheel was dismantled, the new āCentennial Ferris Wheelā reopened in 2016 as part of Navy Pierās redesign for its centennial celebration. Itās now the sixth-tallest Ferris wheel in the U.S. The Ferris wheel operates all summer long, with plenty of food, drinks, entertainment, and photo spots nearby. Personally, I highly recommend trying the ice cream at Jojoās Shake Bar! #ChicagoLife #ChicagoTravel #StudyInChicago #ChicagoFoodie #ChicagoFun #ChicagoEats #ExploreChicago #USATravel

Weekend GetawayāChicago Located in the northern part of the Midwest, not sure how to describe it š Home to one of the best Chinatowns in the U.S., or so they say. š Must-Visit Spots No.1 The Bean Located in downtown Chicago, super close to the subway station, very convenient. The cool thing is, no matter what angle you take a photo from, you can capture the most vibrant views of Chicago. Definitely worth a visit! I went right before Christmas, not too crowded, but a bit chilly haha. No.2 Ferris Wheel Didnāt take good photos, so didnāt post them š Very close to The Bean. Go at night to see the entire Chicago skylineāitās like a mini New York, they say. No.3 Aquarium Heard itās one of the top three aquariums in the U.S., and itās HUGE! They have everything, but tickets might be a bit pricey. I went using a friendās annual pass, so it was free for me. š Chicago Food Top1 Chicago Pizza!!! The cheese is so thick, I wouldnāt have believed it if I hadnāt seen it myself! Lost the photos though š When you go to a restaurant, order the Chicago Classic Pizza š Top2 Popcorn Famous and delicious! Affordable too! Top3 Chinese Food! Heard Chicago has super authentic Chinese foodāgrilled cold noodles, liangpi, all super tasty, but I havenāt tried them yet. Next time for sure! š Transportation Uber or public transportation Thereās still so much to explore in Chicago, I didnāt get to see it all! Cost of living isnāt high, definitely worth a visit! #ChicagoTravel #WeekendGetaway #TheBean #ChicagoPizza #Chinatown #TravelGoals #ExploreChicago #FoodieAdventures #CityLights #AquariumVibes
