So as loyalty member who has patroned about 30 Starbucks FREQUENTLY including other States, I shopped at this Chicago, 35 th and State Street location today and ordered my usual Grande Carmel Frappechino with EXTRA carmel drizzle, easy whip cream and it has been prepared THE EXACT SAME WAY AT ABSOLUTELY EVERY LOCATION I HAVE EVER VISITED except today....the Barista Lauren was nice but prepared it in a way I have NEVER received and I was upset about it, even after having tipped. I showed it to Lauren and expressed not being satisfied and asked her why was the EXTRA carmel drizzle that I paid for not drizzled in the cup and she expressed that when ordering I MUST EXPRESS that I want the drizzle that way..."lined in the cup" ...im CONFUSED because I've been patronizing this location since its inception and remodel including MANY OTHER CHGO locations and NOT one other Barista has EVER told me this and EACH AND EVERY other location has ALWAYS prepared my order with the drizzle throughout the cup. To me, that's the point of wanting the extra drizzle, so that you get carmel when drinking it. I also attempted last Thursday during the "half price" hours to purchase a frappechino at this location only to be told they were out of Frappechino...huh? How and why one your "special" day are you out of product? So not good. Another time at this location my same order with extra carmel drizzle was given to me, not with a dome lid, but with a tight fitting lid that literally smashed the carmel into the lid!! Like WHAT????!! My point is- if all of a sudden asking for a Carmel Frappechino with extra drizzle needs specification when ordering and if this is Starbucks POLICY- WHY HAS THIS NOT BEEN ACROSS THE BOARD AND COMMUNICATED TO ALL BARISTAS EMPLOYEES? I always try to write reviews that are positive and rarely write negative ones unless warranted but I wrote this because I am exasperated with this location always flipping the script. This location needs to do better...
Read moreNot for nothing, but, I have reviewed plenty of Starbucks coffee dealerships up to this in my life and know the good from the mediocre better than most. Lucky I've never seen anything less thank God.
If you want to see that I recommend 'Joeys Java & Jambalaya Joint ' down there in little New Orleans. I believe its next door to little Ethiopia but down from little Armenia. You'll know if you hit little house on the prairie and signs for the Oregon Trail you've gone too far. You would probably be better off unless your stomach has been conditioned to brave the fierce combination of hot stale coffee and a blend of fish kicked in your ass with that 'hot as dick in ass' sauce that really burns. I'm not ashamed to say that as a world traveler who has been round it once or twice during which food eaten has beem suspect tp say of many places I chose to do ot from... the very least.
I did get checked now and again by the special unique dive and dines with only poops and cramps From the bouts of food poisoning id suffer thorough in the week after. I saw them all as as a reminder to never forget about what makes up the cubes of ice in other countries whem I make sure to never drink the water...wink. So if you want the adventures... Joey's will surely beat that one back into your abdomen for the next 12 hours after the poison kicks in and the adventures begin
Otherwise there is this mediocre coffee house that has pretty good Quad shot Carmel Macciattos that never deserve a tip.
To the average and expected:
Starbucks is been at this level thank God.
This one stacks up to a meger and or lowly average on top of nothing at all special about everything in it because I already new what it looked like before ever walking in forcing the typically American mark that just good enough to make you come back.

Read moreI would go -5 star if applicable. On 9/26, I scheduled a traveler for 11:15am as we had an event at noon 9/27. I showed up at 11:08, and showed them the receipt. HOWEVER, the staff told me to give her one sec and then kept assisting the customers in queue behind me, and I could also hear she asked someone else to get a traveler box, and it was already 11:18 by then, which shocked me because I suppose my order should have been ready for picking up at 11:15 or what’s point to have it scheduled? Then I got it, they had not even started to prepare my orders. So I started my endless waiting and watched everybody got their stuff and left. Finally, at 11:27, I saw someone get out with a traveler box and started to brew my coffee. After they poured the second portion of coffee into the container, I had no choice but told them just to give me everything you had in hand for now as it was already 11:45. I was late for my pizza delivery (from Papa John scheduled for 11:45 which was on time), and of course, the event at 12:00 unsurprisingly. The only thing I got was half gal coffee with an all wet messy container after half an hour delay (I ordered 1 gallon coffee because they told me they did not sell half gal, which sounds so ironic now) and a heartless sorry. Well, you should be but I don’t need it, you should refund me for the never-showed up...
