I ordered from Jerk and Soul Food during happy hour in Door Dash and was impressed by the pricing and portion sizes. I went with the jerk wings and picked candied yams and cabbage as my sides. Everything arrived hot and fresh, and the generous helping even included a bed of rice and peas under the chicken, which was a nice surprise! The cabbage had great depth of flavor thanks to the seasonings and smoked meat, and the yams were rich and had a really smooth texture. Unfortunately, the wings didn’t quite hit the mark for me. I love spicy food, but the heat overpowered any traditional, smoked jerk flavor I was hoping for as the chicken itself lacked seasoning beyond the sauce. Even though the wings were a letdown, I can see why the restaurant has so many great reviews. I probably won’t reorder right away, but I’m open to giving them another try.

Ordered take-out online….when I arrived at the restaurant, there had been a snafu and the kitchen hadn’t received the order, so I had to wait about 15 minutes. It was well worth it - we ordered the oxtail dinner with plantains and greens, the fried chicken dinner with mac and cheese and rice and beans, and the jerk wings with fries. Everything was fresh and flavorful…big portions too. I thought the fried chicken and greens were particular standouts, as well as the plantains. As other reviews have stated, the greens do come with meat, so they are definitely not vegetarian. Would definitely order again (but next time l’ll call to confirm that the online order got received)

The food is disgusting and the customer service is terrible. I order this restaurant through door dash and I order a dinner. The restaurant didn’t give me napkins, jerk sauce, or bread. When I called back up to the restaurant I was told that I had to request jerk sauce. I have never order from a jerk restaurant that didn’t just put jerk sauce in the bag. Also btw if you looking for a true authentic jerk restaurant it’s not this place. The cashier was Indian and I ask him is this a Jamaican jerk restaurant he said yes. This restaurant can’t be an authentic Jamaican restaurant ran by a real Jamaican.

If I could put one star I would. Whether you are dining in or dining out it should be an entire experience. I ordered food at 7:27 and was told it would be 35 minutes that's a little long but I accepted it. We gave them 45 minutes and then called to see if the order was ready. The employee said it would be another 10 minutes. I agree and wait so now we are at an hour and some change just to go inside the restaurant to be informed that our food was "accidentally" given away to another customer. So then we wait another 45 minutes. By the time we finally got our food the restaurant had closed and the consolation prize was some extra food which wasn't extra food it was food that hadn't been sold during the day that they didn't want to throw away so they gave it to us. We had two wing orders for $19 plus desert that's $50 and we got jerk wings that wasn't jerk it was baked chicken with jerk sauce and a side of Glory greens from out of the can. Yes covid impacted everyone especially small businesses but that doesn't give you the right to over charge and under deliver good food and service. I love supporting black owned businesses but I will NEVER patronize this establishment again. This was my first time...

Well the reviews are in , and I believe most of the 4 and 5 star ones are and were done by the owner and employees. Got there this past Sunday 03/23/2025, drove about 45min, from Hammond, Indiana. There were only 2 people inside, we were greeted and said someone would be right with us. Couple guys inside were huffing and puffing snd told there orders would be right up. You could tell they had been waiting awhile to later as we watch told there sides were not ready and take quite a bit longer. They both settled for something they didnt really want. I brung 5 people with me guaranteed we would have spent upwards of $200.00 bucks... After waiting 17minutes NO SERVICE...!!! Sucks these people dont care, never got to try the food for an honesy review, but seeing all the others time line makes it seem as if you guus are taking orders then running elseswhere to pick it up before the cusyomer gets it. So much for supporting black business. GET IT TOGETHER ...🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼 ALPHA PHI...
