I went into Binghamton to get my fingerprints done for an upcoming job with the state at the IDentaGO facility (aka Evolution Consulting in the Metro Center)
IdentaGO seemed like it would be a breeze. Everything was sent in email, including the instructions to park in the Metro Center lot, stating, "Parking will be validated by the center."
I pulled in to the Metro Center parking lot, got a ticket from the machine - and saw it was set up to be run by a person in between entrance/exit. I did NOT note if a person was actually in there (which I guess again, is my bad)... and I don't know about most people, but when I pull a parking ticket out of the machine, I usually throw it up on my dashboard. I don't tend to look at it, and I don't take it with me out of my car (again, my bad?)
I got my fingerprints done in literally under 10 minutes, and I was given 2 receipts showing $0.00 paid. I assumed (I guess stupidly...) that one of those receipts was to "validate parking" - No one at the center asked me if I needed/wanted parking validation, and no, I didn't ask (I guess that's on me), but usually a receipt has been "validation" in ALL of my experiences previous to today.
Went back out, got into my car, pulled up to the exit ticket station, only to realize that not only was the exit unmanned, but the machine would either take a token or $20. That was it. No option to call for help or anything else. Come to learn through the little bottom of the ticket I pulled from the machine at the entrance, that I was supposed to give the business the parking ticket and they'd give me a token back to put in the machine.
You're probably saying, "Why didn't you just back up, re-park and go in and get it validated?" Well, of course that would have been the EASIEST answer, but lo and behold, 2 people were waiting behind me... one of which was a rude & inpatient a-hole who had begun to beep in frustration.
The other option was to have to get out of my car, walk back and tell both cars they'd need to back themselves up, so I could reverse to go back inside, causing me stress/anxiety at someone who already beeped at me... and god only knows what other moods those people could have been into.
SO, lucky for me, I had a f'ing $20 bill, and that perfectly new bill got spit out at me 4 times, no matter if I put it in the right way or not... and it finally only got accepted after I put it in the BACKWARDS way.
To finalize a TLDR ranting complaint, make sure you realize how Metro Center parking works - and get your token... otherwise, you're going to be out $20 and be as salty as I am! (I'm going to also be posting this on the IdentoGO...
Read moreIt's a shame that more people don't have businesses in the Metro Center. I don't know if it's the parking which is free if you have it validated or not but it's a perfect location it's frustrating to see businesses leave but it was actually refreshing to see new businesses coming in today. There were plate glass workers there were workers that we're putting in new machines not sure what the new business is our but it would be great if more businesses were to come into that locatio. My attorney has been there as long as I've had him for 10 years. Occasionally, I do use the Visions Credit Union Bank there if I happen to be in the Metrocenter or or if I need some cash because I'm shopping at a downtown business or eating at a downtown restaurant. The parking is free if you visit any one of the businesses in the Metro Center no matter how long you're there so don't let the parking lot scare you it doesn't cost extra. Don't park on the street and pay to park, go into the Metro Center parking lot have your parking card validated by whoever it is that you're visiting and your parking is free. It's clean it's open it's light it's a great place to go to do business with the people that you...
Read moreWould give a half star if I could, trying to make our way out of an event and only one exit for hundreds of cars. Would never park here again in the future, been waiting well over 2 hours just to get to the end of the line heading straight out the exit gate. Highly NOT RECOMMEND to park here at any point in time, you'll be better parking out on the streets than...
