New York Nails & Spa — Attraction in City of Lackawanna

I came Two times to get my nails done. There was never anyone else in the salon which I found kind of odd. The owner "Jules" convinced me to get my eye lashes done after my second pedicure I have never gotten lashes before, needless to say she scrubbed my eyes with a dry Terry washcloth towel which extremely hurt rubbed my eyes red and swollen and was condescending and rude. She kept making comments as if it was my fault it was hurting like I didnt have enough lashes to hold them on or when I tried sitting up she yelled at me to stay down. She had me leave when my eyes were swollen and leaking with water and puss and I could not see. I spent 2 days icing my eyes for the better part of the days. My friend had to cut a piece of lash that was not placed right and was scratching my eye. I went in to show her my red swollen eyes she said come back in a few weeks and I will fill and help. "Jules" even called me a few days prior to make sure I was coming in she left a odd voicemail and she was sorry and would help. I came in for my "refill" that she was going to "help" with and told me her I owe her $80 or she's calling the cops when we were all said and done. She is a terrible owner-worker and person. This is the worst place I've ever been to. There was only one woman working so she left my feet soaking for almost an hour while she waited on other people. She also tried having her twelve year old daughter finish the work and was visibly annoyed when I expressed my discomfort with this. She was also in such a rush that she sprayed water all over the floor and soaked my bag. When it came time to do my nails, she kept changing the prices on me and when I asked her to explain she became very angry and started shouting. My nails were also too long and uneven when she finished but I was too upset to say anything else. This was the most unprofessional salon I've ever gone to.

I did not change my mind several times, she changed the prices several times. I asked several questions, yes, because she was unclear about the prices. I was very clear about what I wanted, she kept insisting she didn't understand me and kept trying to add additional charges to what I asked for. Perhaps if I had not been kept waiting for so long, she might have remembered what I'd asked for to begin with. I will be placing a call to child labor as well, since her underage daughter is working...

My very good gf treated me to a mani-pedi & facial waxing for my birthday. Julie, the owner, met us at the door with birthday wishes. Throughout the visit Julie was professional, attentive & extremely thorough. She is very time efficient but never made me feel rushed. Julie constantly checked on customer satisfaction at every stage of each procedure and was responsive to feedback given to her. The selection of available nail colors is impressive and massage chairs were available for customers during the pedicure. Julie stressed the value of maintaining proper foot care. Frankly she was much more thorough in her examination & treatment of my feet & toes than any podiatrist I have ever been to. My hands, feet and face felt refreshed and looked beautiful at the end of my time with her. My nails & feet still look good 8 days later and I do believe they will remain that way for 3 weeks, as promised. I am very pleased with the quality of services I received & highly recommend Julie.
