This has been my local grocery store since they opened. The store is clean and well lit. They offer affordable prices, international selections reflecting our diverse neighborhood, good quality and always fresh produce and an excellent butcher. I often shop online and have my groceries delivered or I pick up when it's convenient for me. The young lady that picks out my stuff careully selects the best looking produce and freshest cuts of meat for me. And she calls me to suggest substitutions when an item on my list is out of stock. Foodtown uses their unsold produce, deli items and meats to create a hot food and a salad bar that is a great convenience when you don't have time or just don't feel like cooking. They make fresh sushi too which is very good, affordable and beautifully packaged to go. I really like the idea that they are cutting down on food waste. Both management and staff are friendly, helpful and treat their customers well. Oh.... and be prepared for the music they play in the store, my partner and I are regularly entertained by the classic tunes and find ourselves singing while we shop, which makes our shopping trip much longer than probably neccesary but we leave with smiles and...
Read moreI visited this Foodtown on a weekday, which I highly recommend. The store was very clean and organized. There were many employees working and willing to answer questions. Along with groceries, there are other items you might need or want (see photos/videos). They have a decent health food selection, Caribbean and other so called ethic foods as well. The hot food/salad bar looked fresh, I got a salad which was tasty. A definite plus is someone serves you vs. it being self service. There’s also an impressive prepared food section. So many choices. My checkout experience was pleasant, Stacy was a definite gem: pleasant, personable, patient, professional and knowledgeable. You can use a reward card here and sign up for promotions. I’m guessing it gets busy on the weekend. Not sure I would want to be a part of that scenario. The parking lot is large enough. Don’t park here though and go somewhere else. See signs posted. It’s helpful I’m sure that the market is near multiple bus lines and MNR is across the street (might be a short walk to entrance). Worth a visit, bring your...
Read moreThis store needs to seriously get it together. Train your staff — especially those so-called “managers” who stand around the aisles acting like they’re doing customers a favor by just existing. I’ve dealt with two African employees on separate visits, and both had nasty, rude attitudes with zero professionalism. If you hate your job that much, do us all a favor and leave. Customers are the reason this store makes money, and the least we deserve is respect. I don’t walk in here to be talked down to like I’m a burden. Get your staff under control or lose your customers. And here’s the kicker: even Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s still manage to train their staff to say “hello” without an attitude. If they can treat people with courtesy while juggling crowds and chaos, what’s this store’s excuse? Less traffic, less pressure, and still no professionalism? Do yourself a favor — either step up or step aside. Nobody’s spending money here to be...
