I love pine woods disc golf course. The park is usually a little busy, but that's expected. Seems like a lot of people who are there for the picnics write bad reviews because of the disc golf course, but there are plenty of places you can go for a picnic, not as many disc golf courses. The course itself is much improved since they put the tee pads and signage in, but the teepads aren't amazing. Boxes filled with black top millings, you can see where people have decided to throw from off the boxes on the left or right. The teeboxes themselves could be a little sketchy if you're not careful. The course is maintained really well, and has a great mix of wooded holes and longer, more open holes with bigger trees. Would recommend it to any skill level, took me and a partner 1 hour and 15 minutes to play through and we're experienced, but not advanced players by any means. Photo is of my drive on hole 12 (maybe) disc stuck straight into the ground off a hyzer bomb over some trees, about 35-40ft. from the pin. Most holes give you a variety of...
Read moreGreat to see a local park get so much use. While there are far fewer trees than there were 50 years ago, there are plenty of activities. The pavilion still stands. It gets used by churches, organizations and families, which brings lots of people to the park for food and festivities. I'm always tickled to see the disc golf players. They have so many frisbees or discs, as they are called. Some people have disc backpacks some have packs on wheels. Some have packs with a seat or even an umbrella. Marketing has done wonders for this game and bringing people to parks in droves. They are congenial good sports. There are actual teams. Hearing happy sounds and supportive words is what it's all about. Then you see kiddos in strollers being walked at the park. Dog owners walking dogs. Bicyclists on the path....
Read moreExcellent staff, for a nice small park. We reserved a picnic shelter for an evening group event. It included 8 picnic tables, a grill, a kitchen, and bathrooms. The staff came over 30 minutes before our event and swept the shelter, wiped down the tables, put in new light bulbs, unlocked the kitchen, and cleaned and checked the bathrooms. The set up was great. There was a small parking area next to the shelter so we could drive right up, and it was surrounded by grassy areas where we played yard games. There was a nice children's playground a...
