If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience with Lauren O Connell, a Talent Manager of all roles was completely unprofessional and frustrating from start to finish.
I was initially scheduled for a virtual interview with Lauren O'Connel on Wednesday, April 30th at 3:00 PM EST. Prior to our meeting, I emailed her to withdraw my application for the specific role due to travel constraints, but I expressed interest in still meeting at our scheduled time to discuss my qualifications, work experience, and potential opportunities with Robert Half in areas closer to me (Ithaca, Cortland, Newfield, Dryden, Lansing, Remote, etc.). She acknowledged this and confirmed that she recruits for those regions but was no longer available at the original time. No problem—I rescheduled for the next day, Thursday, May 1st at 2:30 PM EST.
On Thursday, I joined the Microsoft Teams meeting on time and even sent a confirmation email before the meeting. By 2:45 PM, I was still waiting. At 2:40 PM, I received a message from Lauren saying she was on the phone handling a time-sensitive issue and ultimately cancelled our meeting. While I understand emergencies happen, it would have been courteous and professional to inform me ahead of time—not 15 minutes after the meeting had already started. If she couldn’t attend, a simple heads-up or arranging for someone else to speak with me would have been much more respectful of my time.
We then confirmed another appointment for Friday, May 2nd at 4:00 PM EST—a full day in advance. Once again, I joined the meeting on time and sent her a message, only to receive a reply saying, “I am so so sorry but I cannot make 4pm work today. Completely understand if you don't want to reschedule, it has been a very hectic week.”
I’m sorry, but I’ve had a hectic and stressful week too—yet I still manage to show up to meetings and appointments I’ve committed to. This entire experience has been unprofessional, disappointing, disorganized, and a complete waste of time for a job-seeking candidate just trying to connect with someone who’s supposed to help.
To the Owner: I urge you to take a proactive approach in addressing this issue by actively facilitating meetings between candidates and hiring managers to ensure the recruitment and hiring of top talent. Please avoid offering surface-level responses that show sympathy without any follow-through. Candidate experiences should not be dismissed, and it is important to ensure that compensation is aligned with performance—employees who do not fulfill their responsibilities should not be...
Read moreI am currently a temp contractor with Accountemps, and would definitely recommend this agency to anyone looking to get work in the accounting field. I am not sure who the person the other review is referring to, but all of the people that have worked with me have been kind and considerate towards my needs as a professional. Jesse, Nick, and Stephen all do great jobs finding openings, and each time I've needed work within two weeks I had interviewed and been placed at a location. They try to get as many temp-to-hire opportunities as possible, and more than likely the first place you go with them will offer you a full-time position (provided you prove yourself to be a reliable worker). In summary, I have been happy with how Accountemps has handled my specific needs and would certainly recommend them to anyone looking...
Read moreI was bounced around between staff weekly. The secretary clearly does not communicate. She let me sit waiting for a whole week not knowing I missed a page for my onboard with the company. That caused a delay. After about a month the only thing they came up with was a shipping clerk position that lasted 4 weeks and paid 12/hr. Let me remind you I have extensive sales/ marketing expierence. 10+ of customer service expierence and almost 3 years of manager expierence. After discussing my displeasure with the company's effort the just completely ignored me. Haven't received a email phone call or anything. If this is the way you treat clients I'm not sure how you're in business. Not sure what you pay your employees but they...
