Went to go try to buy a perfume set for my friend which was a nightmare, the perfume isle is so packed with so many products everywhere that you cannot find a brand easily and the million of times you are asked if you need help is obnoxious but I get it's cause they get paid based on sales but seriously every time you turn around someone is there asking when all I'm looking for is a small gift set.
We ultimately left because we started getting followed and I mean every time I looked away from a product the dude was standing right there, not inconspicuous at all. I know we looked around the same places like 3 times but that's because again every time you go down the isle you find something else to see because there are boxes, testers, and different brands of perfume EVERYWHERE. But seriously it's Macy's there is security and staff everywhere and all this guy did was make me feel uncomfortable and like a criminal due to the very noticeable following to the point where i felt intimidated. I've never been followed before and it's a terrible feeling. I'm not sure why we were targeted other then the fact that we were looking around and around, but it's not like our hands were in our pockets or we had any type of bag with us.
With the amount of staff and cameras around i don't know if that dude really thought we were about to steal something in front of everyone at 2 pm in the afternoon or he really wanted the sale but regardless I'm never going back because of him. I don't know if this is the way that Macy trains their employees to profile people and tells them to follow them or aggressive sale tactics like follow them until they buy something but im so disappointed. I rather just go to perfumemania that's right next door or just order from Amazon because that is the last time I will ever let anyone make me feel like a criminal just because I was being indecisive on what to get.
Long story short if you go to buy perfume at Macy's either know what to get already or exclusively have a sale rep help you because if you wander around they'll follow you, indecisiveness gets you...
Read moreOMG. What a nightmare of a holiday season here. We choose to shop at this location due to proximity. My mom unfortunately lost her phone one day on a shopping trip here. An EMPLOYEE of this store SAW my mom's phone on the floor, and because she is absolutely clueless, decided to leave it there and stand it straight up so no one would step on it like she claimed she almost did. Knowing full well where the security office/lost and found is located, she decided the best option would be to leave it there so the person who lost it could find it.... On the floor in a random spot. Or she stole it herself. Later the employee was trying to be helpful when my mom tried to recover the phone at the security office, but that doesn't make up for her mistake of leaving a lost item on the ground instead of collecting it for someone to recover. (The phone was never found because a thief found it and shut it off immediately to prevent us from locating it.)
The messy shoe sales racks are hard to maintain, but they could have better workers managing that area. I overheard a male employee claiming that he was going to do nothing but throw the shoes back onto the racks. When they should really be placed in the correct rack for the size of the shoe.
All other areas of the mall are decent considering this is at the cross county mall. The bottom floor is a great place to shop for items if you don't want to know have much anything costs before you buy it. (Only few items have price stickers; employees recommended I walk back and forth with each item to the price checking machine to compare item prices.)
God forbid you came in the week before Christmas when they had music blasting to the level where you would have to shout to your family members to hear each other. After about 5 minutes of crowded isles and workers trying to cover us in scents, we walked out to perfumania to make a gift purchase instead.
Best experiences have been with kind cashier's in the clothing areas. 2 stars for the convenience of location and deals with Macy...
Read moreLet me start by saying I’ve been a Macys card holder for 30 years. On January 17, 2025 I received a $200.00 Macys gift card for my birthday. The Macys gift card was purchased on January 15, 2025 at the Cross County location. On March 20th I went to Macys online to make a purchase. As I processed my order and proceeded to check out I noticed that the security code on the gift card was smudged and unreadable. I immediately called the customer care number on the back of the card for resolution. With no success the following day I went to Macys of Cross County with hopes of receiving another gift card. Initially, I was told by a salesperson that there was nothing she could do. As I challenged her statement another salesperson interjected and called management to the Returns/Online pick up area. Mike responded and assisted and phoned Customer care. According to Customer care the gift card had been used and had a balance of zero. I was told to contact Macys claim department. Long story short a waste of time. Macys claim’s department failed miserably. Filed three CLAIMS and the first two weren’t filed. First week in May a Third claim was initiated by Sharon assigned to the Executive Office of Macys of Cross County. A month later followed up with the Executive Office and spoke to Sharon. At that time she was informed by the claims department that the case was close on June 3, 2025 and that an email was sent to me advising me of such. While seated in the Executive Office I Checked my inbox and spam and found no messages from the claims department. My time is valuable!! Wasted over 2 hours of my time on phone with incompetent people. This is a fraudulent matter and that needs to be dealt with. Sadly, no protection for the customers. I guess it’s ok because Macys didn’t suffer the loss. As of today still no results!! The nerve to offer me Customer satisfaction coupons in exchange for replacing the $200 gift card which has no expiration or limitations. Definitely...
