I went to #shakeshack located in Cross County Mall tonight, to have dinner with a friend and her teenage daughter. As, I sat in a booth holding our seats in the back as they handled picking up the orders. My friend came over and put our food on the table and mumbled something about going back for fries. The daughter came back with a tray of additional fries and mumbled something about having an issue with a staff member, and they were going to speak to a manager. As I sat in the booth looking at them from a far, I see 2 gentlemen speaking to my friend and her daughter. I assume the situation was being resolved since management was handling it. As a person in management for more than 10 yrs, I figured what ever resolve they were searching for would be found. When they came back to the table they said that managent didn't really handle the situation. They explained that a young lady had put our fries in a bag when we were staying to eat. And that the staff member stated rudely “why are we staying if they are closing”. I figured, just call and complain, and that’s it. I just minded my own business, and ate my burger. When I was done I cleaned off my table fully, I left not one crumb on it(I’m a take the high road kind of person), I told my coworker that I would check upfront for a corporate phone number or general manager information. I walked up to the Menu area but I only saw state licenses, so I walked out. As I walked out, I felt a presence of someone behind me, when I looked back I saw one of the managers following me outside (I recognized him from when he was speaking to my coworker). He had a phone in my face taking pictures of me on a cell phone without my authorization. He was on company time and had already identified himself as a manager (Orlando was his name). When I asked him what he was doing he continued taking photos of me and of the license plate and registration of the vehicle my friend was driving. I asked once again "excuse me sir, what are you doing", he stated "I'm telling security you are no longer welcome here". I was very puzzled and asked my friend to call the police because a man I don't know, just took pictures of me without my permission, and ran back inside like a coward...... I waited outside for the police to show up, and spoke with a second manager by the name of Grey or Greg, who seemed nice enough to say he understood my discomfort but I should report it to Corporate. Although he was trying to understand me, I don't think he did. I'm a woman who purchased food and ate it in your establishment, who was followed outside by someone who I had never personally spoken to. And this someone was a male twice my size who was on company time, and a representative of Shake Shack at this point, he proceeded to follow me to my car and take pictures of me with his personal phone. If I was accompanied by a boyfriend or husband would I have been treated this way? I have worked in banking for over 17 years, and I have been in management for over 10. I have NEVER left company property and followed a consumer to their car and begin to violate their personal space. Why did he think it was ok to follow me, an adult, outside and begin taking inappropriate and unprofessional photos of me with his personal phone? Did I personally have any interaction with him or anyone from Shake Shack? Did I assault someone physically or verbally? Did I not pay for my food? If he wanted photos of an incident or the people involved, why didn't he just review the same camera system he claimed he reviewed for the incident that started all of this. Why did he follow me outside? Why did he take unauthorized recordings of me? Why did he take pictures of my coworkers registration on her windshield that has her home address? Were we in a car accident that needed to be reported? I'm disturbed and appalled by this gentleman that goes by the name of...
Read moreUsed to love shake shack but this place was horrible. The messed up our order and forgot to but half of the fries and burgers in and even forgot a shake. Even after telling the server what we were missing he would only do one part of the order at a time and try to give me the bags saying everything was there. The food used to taste better but maybe that's because I am used to another location. This place I felt like I was eating cheap frozen food almost like eating McDonald's. If I went to McDonald's I would have spent half the money and gotten much better food actually. Now let's talk about the ordering system here. They don't have one. People don't know where to get online and where to order food and the girls working at the end of the register could care less what goes on in front of them. If your going to have a system like this with the amount of people coming into your store then you need someone working the ordering area to tell people wants going on and guide them and it would take care of a lot of confusion. Heck my wife and I were answering questions for people who came in their first time because we looked like we knew what we were doing . Also a lot of people were walking in and right back out. Horrible experience overall. I don't have one good thing to say $60 dollars that was wasted on horrible food and sub par service to say the least. So tell me why I would go back? I won't to this location or any of your other ones. And to think this was our first meal 4 years ago after we got married and it held a special place in our memories. This location ruined it! Oh and if I am giving you 4 dollars for French fries at least give me a full portion not just whatever "fell" into the...
Read moreSeveral people standing waiting for their order and there were chairs on the tables, so I took a pair of chairs from the top of the tables to sit while our order was ready. As I did this, one of the employees told me in a rude way, like giving an order out of nowhere ,“you can’t use those chairs, they are already cleaned and therefore we nobody can’t use them”. Closing hour is 10, 2 hours left when I got there.
I tried to explain to her we were just going to wait for our order and go, without eating there and with the same rude attitude she told me that the tables were cleaned and said the manager told her to put the chairs on top. I’m not sure why he gave her that order, but 0k, she’s just receiving orders, so I pulled them back on top of the tables again. After a couple of minutes another table was available and I took it and saw this very same rude employee passing by with a rag and a cleaning spray with the intent to clear the table, but as she saw me sitting she walked by without cleaning it. I think she wanted to clean it to put another pair of chairs on top of the table, in order to not do it again, even if that means leaving a customer with a dirty table and having more of them standing for no reason.
These are not really major issues, but the attitude and the contempt for the client was disgusting, so I told her she was rude and that I will leave a review here. I’ve worked in a restaurant with very rude guests, and this wasn’t my case, because I get how uncomfortable and unfair that is. Guest first, and if the guest is doing something inappropriate and unjustified, explain them with basic manners if you are not willing to have a great attitude to communicate...
