Update: 9/2/25 I spent about an hour picking out a variety of florals, paints and mediums for my seasonal creations. Before entering in line, I explained to the cashier the details of my Michaels card accomodation needing to be rung on the register opposed to the self checkout. She assured me that self-checkout could be used for this process...only to realize it couldn't. The cashier & I just spent 10+ minutes meticulously scanning in a large purchase before realizing her error. Now, I must wait for a manager to say exactly what I noted before checking out; that it needed to be done at a register. I asked the manager if she could ring me up correctly. Mgmt tells me I must wait for the same cashier to ring me up after her current customer who was returning items. After a brief wait, I acknowledged this was ridiculously inconvenient and changed my mind about going through the process, yet again. Only at this point mgmt decided she'd accomodate me with the courtesy of ringing me up herself. Frustrated at being led wrong despite my original request to be rung up at the register, I quietly decided against making the purchase, again and whispered, 'sorry, I won't do this again'. As I walked away the manager yelled loudly 'Have a good day!' in a menacing tone. It was that act of bold audacity that inspired me to update my previous 5 star review for the store that I've patron since it's opening many years ago. You see, I match energy; especially when it was me who was greatly inconvenienced. Ma'am, although it costed me 1.5 hrs of my time in total, you saved me approx $156.00. A great day to you too.
A final bit of advice to Michael's....properly train your cashiers/mgmt team as they are the closers who seal the deals. #knowlegeablestaff #kindness #datapoints #bottomline #🙄😮💨 #peoplematter Probably my favorite craft store. They are well organized and stocked. The mature staff could be a bit more friendlier but they are professional. The younger employees are cheerful and always...
Read moreI purchased a home in the area recently, and have been to this Michaels in several occasions. I recently had purchased a significant amount of items online from the Michael's site and some came in damaged, and most without tags. I went to the store this past Sunday November 4th to make a return of some of the items that were damaged and I didnt use. I asked if I can return the items. The customer service representative was very understanding and tired to help me as much as possible. Unfortunately she had to get the supervisor to continue to help with the rest of the return. The supervisor was not only rude when answering my questions, but insinuated that I bought the items elsewhere and also was very loud and others in line can hear our conversation. She turned me away with several items that I showed her were purchased online and had the Michaels log in on my phone showing her the order and my email invoice with the listing, and she still turned me away and told me I needed the invoice for the sku when clearly some of the items were in the store and she could of scanned an item to obtain the item sku, and processed the return. She also denied a return to my account and provided me with a gift card even though I had the online confirmation, order number and credit card I purchased with. I find this very inconvenient that I have to be embarrassed, accused, and turned away because they cant verify online purchases in store or are to lazy to make sure they do their job all the way. I would never return to Michaels, due to this managers lack of professionalism...
Read moreI just went in after receiving an email about a line of planner materials that is trending in store and online. After-no exaggeration-15 minutes wandering the store (I asked a cashier if someone was on the floor to help me find these items, and she confirmed:) because there were no sales people on the floor to help me find the line I was looking for, I finally happened upon a worker. She was sweet, and explained if I call back on Friday, they might have had a chance to put the Thursday shipment on the floor I to their new floor display... I asked, well where are the current items you have? She shook her head no... So I get an email specifically about these items, and they've been pulled from the floor the week they're "trending"? I was beyond thrilled when I found out a Michaels was coming to Clark Commons. I've been nothing but disappointed every single time I've gone into this location. This scam they're pulling- trying to get customers into the store with advertisements, not having the item, so maybe the customers will buy anything so not to waste the trip? I'm over it, and over this location. There has been plenty of time since the store opening a year ago to iron these wrinkles out- this is...
