I’m Mexican I just moved up from Florida a little south of Miami I grew up with grandparents from Mexico and a grandma who passed on the tradition of cooking authentic Mexican food to my mother and sister. So trust me when I say I know how flour tortilla (tortillas de harina) are authentically supposed to taster. Unfortunately I haven’t mastered cooking homemade tortillas I came here with the hopes of having the taste of home. And I knew upon purchasing they looked off colored and we’re stuck together. Still took a chance on them went home heated them on the pan and all I have to say is these were disgusting and horrible they were extremely doughy didn’t taste like authentic Mexican flour tortillas you had to peel them apart from each other. Like chewing gum. I threw them straight in the garbage where they belong. This place should be ashamed to even sell these let alone make them or call them tortillas de harina. The ones from the store you can buy at Walmart are better and I’m not even a fan of those so that’s saying alot. My husband is white and knew the difference. Disgusting.wish I can add a video to show how stuck...
Read moreThe store is clean the rolls and pastries are delicious. The cooked food is great however the problem I have is the pricing. I stood on line and watch the girl in the back make the same plates for three customers with the same ingredients on all the plates. Each customer was charge A different price for a half a chicken rice and beans. That’s all was in the styrofoam container. The Spanish speaking customers was charged five dollars per container. There were two Afro-American customers and a white American couple. The Afro-Americans was charge $8.99 for their containers and the white couple brought two containers of the half a chicken rice and beans and a container of some chop ribs barbecue. There total came to $15.89. That’s the second time I’ve been there to purchase food and the prices are always different and I noticed other customers are being charge different prices. I have a problem shopping at a store like this and I will pass on the word to people when come there to shop, if not Hispanic to watch the pricing especially when there’s other customers around them purchasing the same thing. The subtle racism has...
Read moreI will no longer be shopping here. When I read the reviews previously about the racism and the cashiers being rude. I still insisted on going because I like to give others the benefit of the doubt. Well I shouldn't have taken the warnings with a grain of salt because the cashier that I had today whise name I wont mebtion was very rude. She did not greet me and looked as if I did not belong in the store. She was very friendly towards the family that was in front of me who was Hispanic like her.
I will no longer be shopping at a place that I am not wanted. I never understand why one person of color has to be racist towards another person of color. Whether you are Afro American , Afro Latino, Afro Carribean do not shop at this store. You will not be welcomed here. Even if you speak good Spanish. I will purchase the ingredients for my Hispanic dishes off of Amazon or another grocery store such as food lion or Lowes foods from now on. It is unprofessional to be selective of having good customer service skills when you have a customer who does not...
