As a museum professional I was thoroughly impressed with what IAMCLE has been able to accomplish in such a short amount of time and in a relatively small space. The museum is visually stunning: a great marriage of modern, clean graphics and visual displays and interesting, well-interpreted artifacts tucked inside a historic property. It is packed with information documenting a history at risk of being lost. As a first-time visitor I left with an understanding of the history and contributions of Cleveland's Italian American community. Kudos to IAMCLE and their efforts. On my visit, I had the great pleasure of meeting the Director, who is clearly very knowledgeable and passionate about the history of Italians in Cleveland. We talked about the stone carvers responsible for the "Guardians of Traffic" statues on the Hope Memorial bridge, for which the Cleveland baseball team is now named. She even listened seriously to my suggestion that a future exhibit feature Chef Boyardee, who hails from Cleveland!
