First time back here in many years. The patio was nice to sit outside. The menu is limited due to their reopening after pandemic. Two choices of salad. We had read a review that said great salads, but this was not the case for us. Online the salad is described as "Iceberg, romaine and mixed field greens with shredded carrots and tomato." The mixed green salad came with about 3/4 cup mixed green no other leaf. Minimal shaved carrots and two cherry tomatoes. We asked the server is this normally this small? Yes. She should have told us how sparingly it comes. She brought out the manager who then said they have had to cut back. The price is $6.00 for this mini salad! She kept on going with "they used to have Garbanzo beans and olives but they stopped them." The mozzarella cheese on this salad is .75 extra. My guest said the servers should tell the guests how small the salad comes. The manager kept on telling us how it used to be and was very harsh with her comments. She said this isn't enough for your meal and what more did we want to order? My guest was brought to tears and I told the manager to leave our table end of subject. Low and behold the couple that came in later and got their salad was overheard saying wow this salad is horrible. No croutons either. The positives are the Marghertia Pizza was flavorful. The crust portion was equal size to the topping portion. The fresh basil was very small and limited but cheese was good. Chicken Piccata was very tender and delicious. One note you have to ask for the Capers because they do not automatically include this on the dish! The side of pasta with sauce was bland. My guest said the sauce tasted like dipping sauce you get with mozzarella sticks. My hard earned money was not well spent here and we will not return. The manager did give us 1.00 off the one salad and did not charge for the other one. Choose...
Read moreThis is quite simply, the best and finest Italian cuisine/dining experience I've ever had! From the atmosphere to the service to the freshest of ingredients, Trattoria Roman Garden is THE destination for Italian cuisine! Book your reservations ahead of time, as this place is popular! It's not cheap but it's not expensive either, surprisingly on par with your McItalian restaurants (Carrabba's, Bravo, Olive Garden). This is infuriating, as the McItalian joints offer nothing in comparison to Trattoria. Complimentary is some of the best Italian bread and bruschetta tomato mix to add (with a small bowl of parmesean). We had six in our party, so we tried the Stuffed Hot Banana Peppers (amazing!), Steamed Mussels (superb!) in garlic sauce, Wedding Soup (the best!) and Crab Cakes (not bad) - followed by these entrees: Lobster Ravioli in vodka cream sauce, Linguine and Clams, Chicken Parmigiano, Veal Marsala, & Cheese Tortellini... all of which, were literally the best representations of each I've ever had. It's hard to adequately describe how much flavor each dish holds... fresh ingredients, explosions of taste, and rich sauces (if you don't use the bread to soak up every last bit of Lobster Ravioli sauce, you're doing a disservice to your ancestors!). This is the premiere destination in Little Italy and well worth the drive. With entrees, an appetizer, and drinks (check out The Godfather!), we spent about $40 per person, which is more than reasonable for the cuisine and experience. Also, if you're eating at Trattoria, you can use their...
Read moreI have been going here for years the food and atmosphere are always so pleasant. Yesterday 4/11/24 was the first time I've received such terrible service at this restaurant. One of my friends ordered a dish for himself and the same one to-go for his wife. Upon receiving his order, he wished to swap out the chicken for shrimp on the take-home order for his wife. He found the chicken too dry. The waitress coldly responded "I already placed the order" and did not allow him to make modifications. If I were him, I would have just canceled the order but he was so nice and brushed it off. You shouldn't expect people to pay for something they don't want. Especially when they provide enough notice and are extremely kind about it. The waitress brought us our checks and it wasn't until we overheard the waitress at the next table that we realized we were never offered dessert. The restaurant wasn't busy but to be fair, we were sitting and chatting for a while as we waited on our friends. I think the waitress wanted us out. Still, my friend was ordering drinks and we all ordered appetizers, entrees, or both once we were all present. Before we left, my friend asked for a lid to her salad dressing because she wished to take it home. The waitress came around the corner, tossed the lid on the table, and immediately walked away without uttering a word. We all still tipped as we normally would but I wish I hadn't. It did not feel hospitable at all. I have never gone out of my way to write a negative review before and I am just very...
